“My father is one of the reasons Nigeria got into the democratic system of government. When General Sani Abacha d!ed, my father's friend was second in command, so he became the president and came to ask my father for some advice. My father told him to change the military era to a democratic system, where people can now vote”

I REJECT THE CONCOCTED RESULTS OF THE ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
Following reports of widespread voter disenfranchisement in most parts of the country during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primaries yesterday, I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced.
I had initially stated that I will only accept the outcome of the Primaries if the process was free, fair, and transparent, and I stand by my word. I will not accept results from a process that does not reflect the values that the ADC had pledged to uphold, to rescue Nigerians from the impunity and gross mismanagement that our country is currently facing in the hands of the ruling party.
There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results. Then what makes us different from the others? The whole idea of the ADC was to give the Nigerian people a platform, to amplify the voices of the downtrodden, and make Nigeria a better place for everyone irrespective of backgrounds, ethnicity, or religion.
A party that criticizes the ruling APC and INEC for vote buying, rigging and writing of results, cannot be engaged in vote buying, writing of results, and other electoral malpractices that leads to the disenfranchisement of voters who are party members. This is not acceptable!

@instablog9ja It is fair for woman to refuse sex due to several known reasons. It becomes unfair when it becomes frequent, then the man is free to go enjoy outside if he cannot endure.
Student of Our Lady of Mercy Nursing School, Obowo found m¥rdered in hostel room
A student of the Our Lady of Mercy Nursing School, Umulogho, Obowo in Imo State has reportedly been found de@d in her room under disturbing circumstances.
The victim, identified as Wendy, was allegedly discovered with her throat slit inside her room on Thursday. Reports circulating online claimed she was found almost n¥de, with her clothes torn, sparking outrage and calls for justice.
The tragic incident has thrown students and residents into shock, with many demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her de@th.
Social media users and concerned individuals have also called on authorities and the management of the nursing school to ensure those responsible are identified and prosecuted.
@davido It will only sweet you because your uncle has a stake in this, not because it benefits Nigerians. We just have the world’s most useless celebrities.
This was @AdekunleGold in 2012 openly criticizing then President @GoodluckJonathan. Back then, it was rightly called free speech, and if he had been arrested for those tweets, we would have been on the streets demanding his immediate release.
How then does someone who benefited from freedom of expression turn around years later to use the police, courts, and the brutal cybercrime framework against ordinary Nigerians over online banter and social media exchanges?
You cannot enjoy free speech when you are powerless and criminalize it the moment you become influential. Freedom of expression must apply to everyone, celebrities, politicians, activists, and poor young Nigerians on social media alike.
The Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG must stop acting as a private army for the rich and famous, while the judiciary must stop handing down outrageous punishments over internet speech that should never be criminal matters in the first place.
FG Seeks Fresh $1.25bn World Bank Loan Ahead of 2027 Election
The Federal Government is seeking a fresh $1.25bn loan from the World Bank to support economic reforms, job creation, and investment growth.
The proposed facility, titled Nigeria Actions for Investment and Jobs Acceleration, is expected to be presented for approval on June 26, 2026, months before the 2027 presidential election.
If approved, the loan, estimated at about ₦1.7tn, would become one of the largest World Bank facilities secured under President Bola Tinubu’s administration and could push Nigeria’s total public debt above ₦160tn.
According to the World Bank document, the facility is designed “to support the government’s efforts to expand access to finance, digital, and electricity services, and strengthen competitiveness through tax, trade, and agriculture reforms.”
The report stated that the loan has reached the “decision meeting stage” of the World Bank approval process, indicating that negotiations and major conditions have largely been concluded ahead of final board approval.
“The review did authorise the team to appraise and negotiate,” the document added.
Findings showed that the World Bank has approved about $9.35bn in loans and credits for Nigeria between June 2023 and May 2026 across sectors including power, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic reforms.
If the latest facility is approved, total World Bank approvals under Tinubu could rise to about $10.6bn.
Reacting earlier, the Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, warned that Nigeria could reject World Bank facilities if approval delays persist.
“If approvals take more than six months, the Nigerian Government may no longer honour such arrangements,” he said.
The World Bank, however, warned that the programme carries significant risks ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that “political and governance risks are elevated ahead of the 2027 elections, with pressures that could delay or reverse sensitive reforms.”
