Still shocked at how many parents sit idling in their cars at school pickup. Absolutely bat sh*t crazy to me.

@TheGaryWarner You should totally buy one! Really, who doesn’t need a Multi-Mission Aerial Refueling Aircraft?

@OregonAt100 1905 - the year a sitting US senator was convicted of fraud against the backdrop of the Lewis & Clark Centennial Exposition. An exciting news year in Oregon!

It's nearing the end of 1972, and I will soon start a new year to follow. I haven't decided which year yet. Here are some years I'm considering. What would most interest you? (Previous years: 1920, 1941) Please add any other ideas in the comments.

@skywaker9 Bummer! My family has still managed to dodge it, but my daughter is currently sick with a (non-Covid) cold so I know it’s partly luck. It will eventually get us all, so at this point the game really becomes minimizing the number of reinfections. Godspeed!

Well it looks like I am no longer in the "Never tested positive for COVID" crew. Feel mostly fine (sore throat, runny nose, headache) but two positive rapid tests this morning don't lie.

Is it just me or have there not been enough articles about how "Avatar" left no cultural footprints?

@Jmahan96 As a clinic manager, I had a psych np student drop in to ask if a physician was willing to take her for a brief medical assessment rotation. I finally found a doc willing, but then the health system said no - they only allowed np students who currently worked for us.

@Jmahan96 Yes. Very common, unfortunately. And I’m the present climate of high burnout it can be hard to find willing preceptors, which makes it harder to complete the program on time.

@JoniAudenLand What I learned in EMS (and continue to do today) is to buy groceries for healthy lunches/snacks, then pack them every work day, and stick to what I pack. Otherwise, yeah, you just end up filing up with candy and junk food.

@Boenau Additionally, many of the providers I worked with walked or biked to the clinic and want better infrastructure, but they are beyond burned out and barely have the energy to advocate for improvements within their own system, let alone to outside institutions.

@Boenau Having worked with several physicians and advanced practice providers, I can assure you they get no financial incentive for prescribing, and they’d all prefer patients control their chronic conditions via lifestyle modifications.

If walking & bicycling have obvious health benefits, why aren't health professionals promoting walk-friendly, bike-friendly infrastructure? Shouldn't doctors & scientists be the most vocal? Short answer: a few are. Longer answer: many don't, because 1/5 ⚕️🧵

Amazingly, those loose Legos are just a fraction of the kids’ overall collection.
