@ArthurCDent @DukeZer0 Robert Black KC, Professor Emeritus of Scots Law at the University of Edinburgh. The 1707 Treaty of Union was never honoured/enacted - no new British State was created. The coerced "Union" was simply a cosmetic rebranding of the English State to include the territory of Scotland:

@ArthurCDent @DukeZer0 Terrible example - Scotland was effectively annexed, and is treated as a region of England. Scotland's parliament is a subordinate branch of Westminster (and can be disolved by WM). Scotland's oil revenues go directly to London. Scotland isn't allowed to run its own broadcasting.

One of my least popular opinions is that 🇦🇺 and 🇳🇿 should simply merge together. Would make absolutely no difference to anyone, but would largely solve structural hassles like this one. youtu.be/uBpgTgFF1ek?si…

Thrilled to be at The Pear Tree in Edinburgh today. Pubs and your local sports clubs should get late-night licences to air Scotland games during the World Cup. That’s how we can come together to celebrate and show Scotland we’re behind them!

@DannyConway1875 @J4m35c4mpb3ll "Britain/UK" is the cosmetic re-branding of the English State. The Treaty of Union was never enacted - no new "British State" was ever created. England simply annexed Scotland (and later Ireland), and continued the English State - rebranded as "Britain/UK".

@DannyConway1875 @J4m35c4mpb3ll They're English parties. Devolution was supposedly about creating a space for Scottish politics away from Westminster. Why should England's WM parties be allowed to create fake "Scottish parties" in a devolved parliament?! These "Scottish parties" are not even registered parties!

@Ross_Mitchell11 @SymbolStones Meanwhile The Sun's headline for England qualifying : "TUCH DOWN - England qualify for World Cup 2026". England fans of course have never been known for drinking alcohol.

@Mawface1 @thomsonchris Ye've had yer referendum! We had a "referendum" with massive interference from outwith Scotland - from England's politicians, media, businessmen, BBC. Run by the Electoral Commission [London], with ballot irregularities and no independent observers. And no Scottish broadcaster.

@omdygon @thomsonchris And those are pretty good arguments for independence but not proof of oppression. We had a referendum so we are not oppressed. If the goal is to convince the opposition or on the fencers, “woe poor us oppressed by the English” has already been proven not to be the winning formula

Why does the world respond to Scotland with such instinctive enthusiasm? Why do ordinary people across continents feel an immediate bond with Scotland? Because, whether consciously or not, they recognise a simple truth. Scotland is confronting a colonial oppressor. Scotland is a nation illegally annexed by England and trapped inside a relationship designed to suppress its sovereignty. The global public senses this injustice and the world knows what it means. They understand, even without being told, that Scotland is still denied liberation. Every time the Scottish football team steps onto the pitch, it carries the weight of a nation still held under English colonial rule. Time for liberation. Scotland's qualification for the World Cup will show the world that it will be better in all ways with an independent Scotland liberated from the English coloniser.
Christophe Dorigné-Thomson@thomsonchris

Scotland at the World Cup in the United States of Scotland. Time to get America behind Scotland's independence. Liberation is coming from the English coloniser. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@Mawface1 @thomsonchris Devolution was (supposedly) about creating a small space for Scottish politics, away from Westminster. However, WM parties created fake "Scottish" parties in order to subvert and interfere in even this "devolved" space. Scots are not even *allowed* to run our own broadcasting.

@Mawface1 @thomsonchris Most of my 60yr life's been spent under England's rightwing Tory party - who Scots haven't elected since 1955; the rest under England's Labour party. Both enforce economic policy designed for London. Scotland remains an underdeveloped country, its oil and now electricity removed.

@HeraldSportScot @mcgowan_stephen Denmark isn't suffering economically by being controlled by the country next door; nor does it have a non-Danish media constantly telling Danes how pish their country is.

@PeterStefanovi2 Look at the definition of “living in poverty”. It is relative and therefore there will always be people living in poverty according to this definition.

Well said Poet Laureate Simon Armitage. I’ve never understood the modern euphemism of ‘passed’ instead of ‘died’. It’s as if we fear the spectre more than the reality. Death is a reality.

Blackbirds live for only around four years, yet in that short time they fill our gardens & woodlands with their beauty and unmistakably ethereal song🪶🎶 They feed on all manner of insects, but it’s the humble earthworm they love most. And by tilting their head to one side, they can actually hear the faint movements of worms beneath the surface — a talent that makes them masters of the lawn at dawn ☀️🪱 Some believe that if you gather the feathers of a Blackbird and place them beneath the pillow of a sleeping loved one, they will speak their innermost desires and darkest secrets....but ask yourself… do you truly want to know? 🪶🐦‍⬛

I have been asked about the termination of Liberation Scotland's contract with JPTI. This is a personal view. The contract expired in December. Great work was done under it and the technical foundations of the work at the UN are in place. As things draw to a close, Liberation believed JPTI was no longer performing usefully and activated the termination clause. This has led to minor disputes about start dates, expenses, advances etc. I was never aware of any important strategic or ideological difference during the contract. I am somewhat puzzled by this now but the root is the financial dispute - which itself is not large. In short, it is a storm in a reacup.

@ScotNational More Sarwar evasiveness : 🔹England raises income tax target 🔹Scotgov must mirror England, as any shortfall is considered to be revenue which Scotgov has chosen not to collect 🔹In which case, the shortfall is deducted from the sum returned to Scotland in the "Block Grant"
