You are entirely right about the misconceptions of Iran's economic development but electricity production per capita is not a great indicator. Production has not kept up with demand, which is a reflection of two factors: (1) the inability to invest in major new generation capacity under sanctions, especially in renewables, and (2) rising consumption per capita. The country has faced frequent electricity shortages in recent years. Production per capita in the US has fallen in part because consumption is no longer rising as consumers gain access to more energy efficient technology. But in Iran, the technology being used is more rudimentary and consumption keeps rising because the country is at an earlier stage of development.

One of the most important indices of economic performance is electricity per capita. In 1980, Iran's production was about 0.5 Mwh per capita (Third World level) vs 10 Mwh per capita in USA. By 2005, it had quadrupled to about 2 Mwh per capita, while US had increased about 33% to 13.5 Mwh per capita. Over the past 20 years, despite continuing crippling sanctions, Iranian production has doubled again to about 4.5 Mwh per capita, while US production has declined about 10% to 12 Mwh per capita. In the current war, US and Israel are, of course, doing what they can to reverse this relative progress.

It is also clearly visible that all other buildings, just as the the school, were struck at the center. --> indicating that one of the two countries involved in the attack on Iran bears responsibility. It is impossible that a missile failure visible there caused the bombing at such a distance. At this moment, there is no proof that a failed missile launch caused the incident. Given the school’s position, next to and possibly integrated into a military facility, the more logical explanation is that the school was mistakenly targeted during an attack on the base. A thorough investigation is required to confirm this assessment, or additional verifiable evidence must emerge to support alternative claims. When conducting analyses, always consider the principle of "Occam’s Razor" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s…): "When presented with competing hypotheses about the same prediction and both hypotheses have equal explanatory power, one should prefer the hypothesis that requires the fewest assumptions." In this case, the only “evidence” for the failed IRGC missile launch claim has been proven false. Therefore, there is currently no credible evidence supporting that theory. Reminder: OSINT, and reporting (journalism) in general, is based on the information available at the time an investigation is conducted. Therefore, analyses may change as new footage or evidence emerges.
