@PhilMackey TJ isn't going to get the ball with Ant or Julius more versatile options but the fact is TJ has the ability to make plays when he is given the opportunity. He was injured for a big chunk of the season too. His force is pretty fresh!

@JonKrawczynski @SamQuinnCBS Not to mention, he has the ability to defend the Nuggets player that Tim Connelly left behind when he came to Minnesota. He knew what he needed and he got it.

@SamQuinnCBS They gave up one pick too many. But it’s an unequivocal home run. An important bit of context is that when MN trades for someone they have to make sure that player wants to play here. The pool is smaller than some other places. Rudy was an impact player who wanted to be here

This is a really complicated topic because of the opportunity cost. Rudy has given Minnesota everything they could've hoped for. This is the most successful sustained period in franchise history, and he's the second-most important player to that success behind Anthony Edwards. It's also reasonable to suggest that they paid a championship or bust price. I think they had a championship ceiling in 2024. Didn't feel like they did in 2025 or 2026, and Rudy's getting older. If this team does age out, you have Ant/McDaniels in their primes without the assets to build around them. Rudy did his part. It's also fair I think to say, "hey, having Ant, Jaden, Walker Kessler, Naz and KAT plus financial flexibility and all of the picks we'd need to let Ant recruit whoever else" probably yields a higher ceiling. Maybe you don't want to risk waiting on the higher ceiling guy in that market. Rudy was happy to be in Minnesota. Lots of tricky calculus there. Ultimately I'd land on "the trade has justified itself" without the trade automatically having been the right move.

Rudy Gobert deserves an apology. In 2022, when the Minnesota Timberwolves got him for 4 first round picks and 5 players, everyone called it a massive overpay. But having an elite defensive anchor in the paint has paid off big time. The Wolves went to back-to-back Western Conference Finals, and now, no one's doubting Rudy. In their playoff series against the 3rd-seeded Nuggets, Gobert came up huge. Nikola Jokic entered the playoffs averaging a triple-double in the regular season, and putting up MVP-level numbers. But in the playoffs, Jokic had trouble against Gobert all series long. He shot just 44.6% in the series - far below his season average of 56.9%. Jokic looked just a shell of himself, and is now sent home for the summer all because of the Stifle Tower. Put some respect on Rudy Gobert's name. He turns 34 this summer, but the 4-time DPOY is still wreaking havoc 😤

@Aaron_Torres At least your followers understand how creative bookkeeping works. BTW, many sports franchises lose money while being held but the franchise values increase dramatically. They aren't adding 6 teams at a quarter of a billion $ because people are trying to lose $.

WNBA players, currently in the middle of CBA negotiations, wore "pay us what you owe us" t-shirts for warm ups at the All-Star game. There is no group of more delusional people on planet Earth, than WNBA players 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

@MarneyGellner Alyssa Thomas has her career high of 29 today and it was also her season high (not ironically). @FanDuelSN_NOR please find someone not face down in statistics to actually call the game.

@MarneyGellner do you ever rewatch the games you do? I find it almost like you're trying to do play x play from the written game play x play. The number of errors is wild. Throw the stat monitor in the garbage and call the game.

@FanDuelSN_NOR Any chance you can change the balls, strikes, and baserunner indicators on Twins games to white? I'm color blind and the red do not stand out.

With all due respect… We need to STOP with any KAT + KG comparisons
Dan B.🌲@EditCubical

@PhilMackey I think a lot of people are ready to see if this works. But for many, KAT was our KG. It’s tough.

I know a lot of Timberwolves fans are very upset about the KAT trade. Emotional, even. KAT is one of the best players in Wolves franchise history. He had a nice 9-year run, made $200 million and helped rejuvenate the franchise in recent years. But Tim Connelly knows what he is doing. Here are some reasons why trading KAT was 100% the right move: 1 - Great time to sell high. KAT is 29, injuries have piled up, and he gets more expensive every year. Every day that goes by, his contract becomes harder to trade. KAT isn’t a “No. 2” on a championship team — but he will be paid like one for FOUR more years. In a salary cap league. For a team in the 2nd luxury tax apron. And if Connelly thought KAT was that dude, he wouldn’t have made the trade. 2 - Clearing out KAT’s contract allows the Wolves to sign Naz Reid long-term. 3 - KAT’s underwhelming postseason track record: While KAT was effective guarding Jokic and had a handful of good games offensively in the playoffs, his overall career postseason numbers dip across the board compared to regular season. One example: In 60% of his career playoff games, KAT — a generationally great shooter for his size in the regular season — has made 1 or 0 threes. KAT also shot 27% in Games 1-3 of the Western Conference Finals — all extremely close games the Wolves likely would have won if KAT shot, say, even 40%. 4 - Donte DiVincenzo is awesome. He makes up for the loss of KAT’s shooting, and he brings a little more dawg to this team. 5 - KAT does not show up among the Wolves’ top FIVE 3-man lineup combos OR among the Wolves’ top EIGHT 2-man lineup pairings (see photos). 6 - KAT is a foul machine. He has led the NBA in offensive fouls per game for *FOUR consecutive seasons* … KAT also ranks 2nd in total fouls per game over the past five years.
