🙏 Respectfully my friend, may I contribute some context on Section 8 that perhaps may be helpful as it’s a complex issue that i see from the ground and, in its construction, creates a permanent ‘client of the State’. I am involved with a good deal of philanthropy in housing and workforce development. Section 8 can certainly be abused, but that is the baby, and the benefits, intricacies and the pitfalls of Section 8 is the bathwater. To be eligible for section 8 housing is a tapestry of qualifications that must be strictly adhered, but what happens is once enrolled, it puts a cap on the income and bank account balances of the recipient. When a person exceeds the marginal income threshhold or surpasses the cap on money in their bank account(s) they immedialty lose the benefit(s) Such a thing is not gradated, a person is either all-in or all-out. It is a system that is intolerant of intentions to 'get out' of the arrangement. What then to do with those people who strive to get off and become more productive? It's a catastrophic shock, either receive the benefits and conform to its eligibility, such as the vouchers, or be suddenly cast out. There is no gradation. Further, cities conceive of antagonizing ways in which the vouchers can be rescinded, such as understaffing the relative city agencies and pernicious defaults on the conditions. There is plenty of abuse - but what to do with those who do truly need such things? We pay taxes for a societal safety net and this same fail safe lends itself to abuse by corruption and creating the conditions that encourage dormant human capital. Thank you my brother for obliging this intrusion 🙏 Your friend, Adam

@theblessedsalt @MattisRedacted Warfare isn’t turn based. The mailbox smasher dies not advertise the moment they will strike the mailbox. And just because you are cozy in your imagined moral high ground does not mean it exists on the battlefield of life.

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

it really is crazy to go into Iran, kill their king and half their cabinet, and be like okay now let's talk peace. Not removing this regime is an insane failure given how far we've gone

No. This line is a bitter and simplistic cope. Strikes on the Iranian theocracy have achieved the below: 1) From Khamenei down, the entire belligerent mad-mullah leadership of the Iranian theocracy has been completely eliminated. We are thus now talking to a new leadership in Tehran who will negotiate a long term peace that will actually last. 2) The Iranian theocracy’s demand for a ‘global jihad’ against America failed. By attacking Sunni Muslim Arabs during Ramadan, the Iranian theocrats overreached, and exposed their malicious regional intent, thereby permanently harming their coveted claim to Islamic leadership. 3) Israeli and Iranian mutual permawar games are exhausted, have never been more unpopular and are now exposed for the entire world to see. Trump will now resume his Gaza peace Board & continue unhindered with his grand regional settlement for peace. 4) Iranian regional colonialism has ended. The Iranian theocracy’s attacks on Sunni Muslim Arabs have caused a major ‘Middle-East Nato’ security realignment of Sunni Muslim states, via nuclear Pakistan. This will lead to the emergence of an independent Sunni Muslim regional power bloc, in addition to existing US, Russian & Chinese regional blocs. It is a new dawn for Sunni Muslims. 5) Russia & China stayed out of this, increasing the chances of solving Ukraine and Taiwan in similar spirit. We are hence actively avoiding any chance of WWIII & the Thucydides Trap. 6) In the process of these major & historic permanent *strategic* shifts, tactically, the Strait of Hormuz was closed by Iran’s - NOW DEAD - leadership. It is only natural to demand that the Strait be reopened. This does not cancel out the above strategic wins.

🙏 My wonderful friend, the host of splendid and well attended cigar nights, the father and husband to a beautiful happy family. 🙏 If I may share my thoughts, i believe them to be well founded. Should I be wrong in any point, trivial or consequential , i invite correection. use PL and as it so happens, I’m also an investor 📈 My take is: a. we know that there is Chinese sat imagery. This is undeniably true. But that doesn't mean the data is reliable. b. What is unknown is the AI enhancement, detection, tagging etc. “this is WHAT we are looking at” c. The output of the AI, in itself, is not ‘actionable’ - because just like LLM’s - these things hallucinate - and frequently misinterpret the data - it can, and does lie - AI creates artifacts and then the AI treats it as “true” Side note: this is one big reason why Hegseth and rank have referred to a “kill chain” that’s been taken out - because getting “information” is one thing, but acting on that information, or not, is something different - when the kill chain has been killed, what do you do? It’s a very big problem for Iran right now - They have no way of knowing if what China has given them is “true” and they no longer have that layer of war decision management to make a top level determination. d. No doubt Iran has used China imagery militarily - but also no doubt they are willing to kill by friendly fire very large amounts of their own vast expandable forces. - They have a very high pain tolerance for civilian casualties - if they are given a pizza pie it has the potential to be used militarily e. One very likely reason the Trump administration has closed up PL imagery is because China extensively relies on Western data and removing that imagery is one less crucial data point for them to draw on. Yup! They buy the data and then reprocess it - “attribution” f. The only way to determine if what China “has” is “true” is to do pixel by pixel forensics and cross reference with other data points: 1. known satellite ephemeris/ orbit paths/timing/etc 2. ground data, flight tracks and shipping etc of the type that is not in the public domain 3. visuals assessment from multiple angles AND, probably what's most important is Historical accuracy. In America the "experts" who inform top down decisions and pundits and 'news people who got a tip from a source' - don't get killed, nor do their families, when they're wrong, or have lied for political reasons, mischief, subterfuge, or financial gain. In China and Iran - those same people get killed, as will their families - and in the most inhumane ways conceivable. - It's shock and awe so that the others know not to "do what that guy did" g. China, like any other customer, buys Western sat imagery from PL, and then blends that product into its own clusters of data from its own indigenous military and commercial sat providers sell - then they add those same layers of AI etc that I've already discussed. h. Not all satellite imagery is the same. How can this be thought of? How can i judge a good Jitterbug dancer from a bad Jitterbug dancer if I don't know the dance and the rules of the contest? No doubt the simple photo data from Chinese satellites is reliable for the BROAD features. In my example the dancer is dancing - But the added AI tagging etc introduces uncertainty. In my example the person is making what appears to be wild motions. You have no idea if what you have seen the dancer perform is good, or not. You can't judge it. It is my experience that 'OSINT' is garbage and its a world of cut and paste. OSINT seems to derive from obscure'd source(s) of unknown provenance and then diffused out via social media thousands of times. Each paste'r adds a little here, subtracts a little there, adds, their own stylistics, and then posts, of fourse claiming authorship or attributing some part of their source info to another post'r doing the same copy and paste. i. The info from China must be treated as a “credible operational threat” to American forces - because if its not treated in this manner people may die, just as bomb threats are treated. This is a long response to a short question that i felt should be broken into bite-sizes. PL has been closed up because it is the right thing to do to keep our service members alive. China has, like with people dying on the streets of Wuhan, released videos, or directed others to release images and videos on its behalf, that must not be believed without critical analysis - and the tools of analysis and forensics, we, you and I and everybody else here, do not possess. Only a few people do, and they just rescued a service member deep in iran Should Trump and Hegseth release the actual coordinates of our service members in and around Iran to prove China sat imagery is lying? /end You are a wonderful person Mike, beautiful family and a happy life. Everything else, is just everything else. Your friend, Adam

Anthropic accidentally leaked their entire source code yesterday. What happened next is one of the most insane stories in tech history. > Anthropic pushed a software update for Claude Code at 4AM. > A debugging file was accidentally bundled inside it. > That file contained 512,000 lines of their proprietary source code. > A researcher named Chaofan Shou spotted it within minutes and posted the download link on X. > 21 million people have seen the thread. > The entire codebase was downloaded, copied and mirrored across GitHub before Anthropic's team had even woken up. > Anthropic pulled the package and started firing DMCA takedowns at every repo hosting it. > That's when a Korean developer named Sigrid Jin woke up at 4AM to his phone blowing up. > He is the most active Claude Code user in the world with the Wall Street Journal reporting he personally used 25 billion tokens last year. > His girlfriend was worried he'd get sued just for having the code on his machine. > So he did what any engineer would do. > He rewrote the entire thing in Python from scratch before sunrise. > Called it claw-code and Pushed it to GitHub. > A Python rewrite is a new creative work. DMCA can't touch it. > The repo hit 30,000 stars faster than any repository in GitHub history. > He wasn't satisfied. He started rewriting it again in Rust. > It now has 49,000 stars and 56,000 forks. > Someone mirrored the original to a decentralised platform with one message, "will never be taken down." > The code is now permanent. Anthropic cannot get it back. Anthropic built a system called Undercover Mode specifically to stop Claude from leaking internal secrets. Then they leaked their own source code themselves. You cannot make this up.

🚨 For me its always 434 BC. a. I'll repost some of my old Iran tweets later. I'm stupid enough to remember and to take notes and i post them to X like its my high convenience, shorthand, diary. b. with little exception - anybody of size talking about the 'deep state' is just bidding up their rates to the 'deep state.' c. subscribers don't pay the bills. d. most people of note don't lie for the money They lie for the vanity it induces, and the prestige it brings. The payment is merely a token. If someone's brand is "I'm a hypnotist" then the proof is hypnotizing people, no? What they hypnotize people to do is unimportant, what is important is 'that it works, I told you I can do it, and I did it'. Covid was like that, no? hmm. e. social media influencers are Influencers - On - Social Media. f. Influencers don't do it for free, its their profession, they are PR sole proprietorships. If you follow them, you are the product. g. if you let these people's thoughts into your mind, how do you know that any of the thoughts you possess are of your own provenance? h. @adamscrabble It's the argument that matters, not who posted it. (I was unaware of Blaze affiliation) The argument: people are led to believe that it's always 1938, and the only valid answer to any question is to go to war Anyone who doubts war is the right answer is framed as Chamberlain

Being able to run the concession well at the cheaper price point is the signaling mechanism, but it’s also the brand. Totally different from the exclusivity of a first class lounge. The club itself at Augusta is members only. That’s the first class lounge. The concession stand at their flagship tournament IS for the average person.

@oneminddreaming @mjpesquire @_hankmardukas That's all kind of irrelevant. Augusta can literally run its concession stands at any price point it wants to because it is a signaling mechanism and they make tons of money off their super-rich fan base anyway.

I can view this holistically without subscribing to your view. The business operations have to be well run in order to effectively serve food at the price point. The concession stands at Augusta National’s demand per hours open is a much higher volume proportion than even the busiest airport first class lounge.

@mjpesquire @_hankmardukas Yeah, they actually have programs for schoolkids and stuff. You have to view this holistically-- activities for the super-rich are often correlated with all the sorts of policies you are discussing, and the two things are not coincidental.
