We need action now to protect our cultural sector and the people who work in it. ACTION: replenish the @ace_national CRF Emergency Response Fund, and allow freelancers to access it with evidence of cancelled contracts. @NadineDorries @DCMS

Shows closed, performances cancelled and huge uncertainty for what will happen in Jan… we are facing a de facto cultural lockdown. OVC are working with campaign groups, Unions and industry reps to ensure livelihoods of arts freelancers are being considered by Government.

Another difficult day for friends & colleagues in theatre. I’m sad that so many are now facing further uncertainties & additional anxieties after a tremendously difficult 15 months. I feel for those now rethinking plans, or simply wondering how they survive this. Brutal.

A brilliant second evidence session for @ProspectUnion @CommunityUnion @fsb_policy enquiry into the future of self-employment. Thanks to @ExcludedUK, @ForgottenLtd, @onevoicecmpgn & @ForgottenPAYE for sharing their thoughts & experiences.

Yesterday, I sat as a Commissioner on the @ProspectUnion and @CommunityUnion self-employment support inquiry this afternoon. So many people have been overlooked and ignored by the Chancellor - in all sectors and in all parts of the UK

2. Q: Can arts venues open for rehearsals and to stream performances? A: Yes. Arts venues are places of work, so people can come into them for work, if it cannot be undertaken from home. This includes rehearsals and performance. Audiences are not permitted.

Wishing our friends @BristolOldVic huge success with their #SeatOutToHelpOut. Seat-matching = performances/how to cope with social distancing/audience safety/much needed work for our freelance workforce... Please make it part of the plan for the cultural recovery @DCMSArts
Bristol Old Vic@BristolOldVic

We’re only allowed to sell 1/3 of our seats right now, so today we’re launching #SeatOuttoHelpOut. Help us by donating to keep an empty seat warm – for a night, a week, a month, or even until we fully reopen! More here: bristololdvic.org.uk/seatouttohelpo… 🪑

It is SO UNFAIR and wrong that actors and sportsmen are exempt from isolation after travelling when musicians NEED to travel and be able to work upon their return too. Does anyone have a direct line to @OliverDowden @RishiSunak to get this sorted NOW?! Please RT!! @onevoicecmpgn
