Her name is Kalpana Saroj. She was born in 1961 in Akola, Maharashtra, into a Dalit family. Her father was a police constable. She loved school. Her teachers seated her separately because she was Dalit. At 12, her parents married her off to a man ten years older. She moved to a ten by five feet room in a Mumbai slum shared by twelve people. She was malnourished and abused every day. Six months later, her father visited without warning. He could not recognise her. He took her home immediately. Back in the village, the taunts were unbearable. One day, she drank three bottles of rat poison. She survived. She decided that if she had been given a second life, she would do something with it. She moved to Mumbai and worked at a garment factory for two rupees a day. She took a government loan of Rs 50000 and started a tailoring business. Then furniture. Then real estate. In 2001, the workers of Kamani Tubes approached her. The company had Rs 116 crore in debt. Workers unpaid for three years. 140 legal cases pending. She took it on. The court told her to clear the bank loans within seven years. She did it within one. The court told her to pay unpaid wages within three months. She paid more than what was owed. Today, she runs six companies with a combined turnover of over Rs 2000 crore. Padma Shri 2013. Board of IIM Bangalore. Board of Bhartiya Mahila Bank. She once worked for two rupees a day. She said Ivy League degrees and fancy MBAs are not what make an entrepreneur. Grit, perseverance and a superhuman ability to have faith in yourself does. Follow for real stories India never makes headlines about.

SANYA | Corporate Athlete Method
IPL is back. And for the next 2 months - Indian men will: - Sleep at 12 AM every night because “match chal raha hai” - Order Swiggy during every timeout - Skip the gym because “aaj match hai” - Open a beer at 8 PM on a Tuesday like it’s Saturday - Analyse Virat Kohli’s diet, recovery, and fitness routine while eating butter chicken on the couch at midnight Same cycle. Every year. Nobody talks about it because cricket is religion. But here’s what 2 months of this actually does: 1. Your sleep collapses. Sleeping at 1 AM for 60 days straight resets your body clock. Cortisol goes up. Testosterone drops. Fat storage increases. You’ll feel the damage in June and blame “garmi” for your low energy. 2. Your eating gets worse without you noticing. You’re not ordering Swiggy because you’re hungry. You’re ordering because the match is on and it “feels right.” 60 nights of this is 60 extra meals your body didn’t ask for. 3. Your gym streak dies. “I’ll go tomorrow.” Tomorrow has another match. 2 months later you’ve lost whatever consistency you built. Starting over in June feels impossible so you push it to July. Then August. Then “next year.” 4. You worship athletes who treat their body like a machine. Then treat yours like a dustbin. Kohli has a ₹2 crore fitness team. You won’t skip a match for him but you’ll skip the gym because of him. I’m not asking you to stop watching cricket. Watch every match. • Pre-decide what you’re eating before the match starts. Not during a timeout at 10 PM. On-the-spot decisions are always the worst ones. • Eat your protein first. Before the match. It fills you up. You snack less, order less, and don’t end up eating two dinners by midnight. • Let this post be your sign. You’ve done this every IPL season. Every June you’ve regretted it. Same 5 kgs. Same guilt. Same restart. This year - don’t let 2 months undo what you’ve been building.

These days even SM influencers & Chirkut Bollywood sidekicks throw so much attitude while travelling, so when I saw this clip of Varsha Usgaonkar sitting w/o any fuss in a plane, I was pretty impressed with her down to earth behaviour

Indian parents, this is important. Short video apps: Reels, Shorts, TikTok-style content are not “just harmless entertainment.” A 2024 EEG study @FrontNeurosci found that higher short-video addiction scores were linked to reduced theta activity in the prefrontal cortex (the brain area responsible for attention and self-control). Lower self-control. Weaker executive focus. Another study in @JAMAPediatrics (2023) linked excessive early screen exposure to delayed language and executive development. Children’s brains are highly plastic. Rapid, algorithm-driven dopamine bursts condition them to crave constant novelty. Over time, attention shortens. Irritability rises. Homework suffers. Social withdrawal increases. This is not about banning technology. It’s about boundaries. @WHO guidance is clear: • No screens under 2 years • Max 1 hour/day (2–5 years) • Structured limits for older children *Create screen-free zones (meals, bedrooms). *Use timers & parental controls. *Model what you preach- children copy us. *Replace scrolling with play, sports, reading, art. Watch for warning signs: Can’t stop? Angry without device? Falling grades? Seek early help. A balanced childhood builds resilient adults. Protect attention. Protect childhood. #ChildMentalHealth #ParentingIndia #DigitalWellbeing #ScreenTime

Revant Himatsingka “Food Pharmer”
When I first researched Knorr, I was shocked to learn that this is the no. 1 ingredient in most of its soups: Maida. Soup is supposed to be predominantly water or broth or vegetables. But the sad reality is: - Knorr mushroom soup only has 2.5% mushrooms  - Knorr chicken soup only has 2.2% chicken. - The first ingredient in Knorr’s Tomato “Chatpata” is sugar. When I was growing up my parents would not let me have tea and coffee and instead they would give me Knorr soups during winters as they believed it was healthy. The saddest part is, Knorr UK has completely different ingredients than Knorr India. For how long will international food companies give inferior quality products to Indians? So my advice is: “Ig–KNORR” Knorr’s ads and have homemade soups instead.

Big Move for Mumbai Metros! The Maharashtra govt has set up a high-level panel to merge all Metro operators in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) into one unified agency — ending years of fragmented planning and operations. 🏗️ 🧵Here’s what’s happening: 1️⃣ The committee, headed by the MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner, includes MDs of Maha-Metro, MMMOCL, CIDCO, and MMRCL officials. 2️⃣ It’s been given 3 months to draw up a roadmap for: Merging all Metro bodies into one independent operator Setting rules for asset transfer and valuation Phasing the merger and suggesting implementation steps 3️⃣ The team will also study global best practices like Transport for London (TfL) and Singapore’s LTA for ideas on unified management. 🌍 4️⃣ Why this matters: Mumbai’s Metro network is currently split among multiple agencies, causing confusion in operations, procurement, and passenger experience. A single operator could mean: Integrated fares & schedules Smoother interchanges Better maintenance & efficiency 5️⃣ The GR, issued Nov 6, 2025. A move long overdue — if executed right, this could finally give Mumbai a cohesive Metro system worthy of its scale.

Shocking‼️ This morning, Punjab government has reportedly attempted to block the distribution of newspapers across several areas. All this is happening because the news about Arvind Kejriwal ji’s Sheesh Mahal 2.0 is spreading like wildfire throughout Punjab. Media houses are being threatened that if they cover this news or show Swati Maliwal, their government advertisements will be stopped. Dictatorship at peak!

Sri Lankan tourists can now enjoy the convenience of self-driving Mahindra Treos, thanks to a collaboration between @tuktukrental and our channel partners, #EvolutionAuto. A new way to experience the island. Powered by Mahindra. The global potential of electric 3 wheelers is vast. Even in European countries, where they can serve as city-centre shuttles. Yes, with futuristic new designs of course! And India can dominate this market as it grows….
