For my last post of 2025, let's talk about what's not sustainable. "Sustainability" is a very important metric. If something is not sustainable, you need to stop that activity or risk kicking it down the line to the point where it simply blows up in your face. This isn't marketing, this is just how life works. If we're being honest, is Google (and other platforms) taking recipes from multiple websites, mashing them together, and offering a taco recipe that looks like a hot dog married a donut, sustainable? Is Google showing these mashed-up monsters for BRANDED queries sustainable? No. It is not a sustainable thing to take other people's content, use it against their wishes in a way that crosses all sorts of boundaries. And if it's not sustainable, it means it will all hit the fan at some point. So my big prediction for 2026 (or 2027, or 2028, or however long it takes...) the way LLMs use and abuse content is not sustainable, and at some point, it will all come crashing back down to earth. Happy I could leave you on a positive note. Although, to be honest, 2025 kinda sucked, so it seems fitting.
