This year made me realize I really don’t need everybody around me. Lately, I’ve been distancing myself from people no matter who you are or how close we seemed. I may not be rich, but I give myself respect.
Crazy how I had to start all over again these past few months, and the same people I thought would show up for me didn’t even check in. Instead, they only come to me with their own problems, asking for advice, while nobody asks how I’m coping or surviving.
It’s sad because I’ve lived like this almost all my life. But this time hurts differently because when I truly needed the people I hoped would stand behind me, they never showed up.
Goodnight. I don’t want friends or love right now. I’ve been real with everyone that crossed my path, but somehow, when it comes to my own problems, I’m always the lonely wolf.

There's one guy in my area people think is a Yahoo boy.
He's always in nice clothes, has a sleek Lexus car, and always at home. No office to go, and no visible business.
To make things worse, the guy hardly talks to anybody. If you greet him, he'll just smile or nod his head and pass.
So people have a lot of opinions about him.
“Poud boy.”
“He's definitely into fraud.”
“He go dey just dey go. He no go greet anybody.”
“No legit work fit make person dey house like that.”
The backbiting on the street was just constant.
The funny thing is, the guy is not even a Yahoo boy, and he's also not an arrogant person at all. I know this because I'm a little close to him.
He's just naturally shy and awkward around people; so he always prefers to just go his own way gently.
He's also working remotely for foreign companies, so he earns in dollars.
One thing I've observed in life is that people backbite too much over things they don't understand.

Someone asked me why cats in the UAE don't are not aggressive towards rats. Here are the points I raised
1. Arabs love cats a lot. Cats in the UAE are well taken care of. From birth, most of them never needed to hunt before they ate. Foods were readily available. Even stray cats live like kings.
They have stations, which are smart, AI-powered feeding kiosks placed in parks and public areas by the municipality. These dispense fresh food and water automatically for stray cats, and they're supplemented by tons of private feeders (delivery riders, residents, expats) who put out bowls daily.
How do you want such cats to go running after rats. They're Nepo babies.
