@Awful_Eye @bryanbrinkman This is why we need to stop thinking about platforms. None will survive. Anything hyped will be superseded by anything hyped. art with dependencies is a liability. Combines these and you have people that move on.

@bryanbrinkman for this stuff to be decentralized and lasting forever, it sure sounds centralized and well not lasting forever....... if a company goes down we are left with just tokens? there has to be a better way!

Having this artwork stop functioning because a platform went down was the start of 2+ years of cascading collapses by outside of my control. (KnownOrigin, MakersPlace, Dew Drops, LG Art Labs, NiftyGateway, and more). Lots of lessons learned the hard way. Bringing it back to life feels cathartic.

@DrifterShoots In the quiet of craft and the stillness of practice the muse waits for the artist. Craft is the vehicle that can takes you there. Practice is the repetition that rows you there. In the dark far far away from the energy of daily life there’s a clearing. Struggle to it and wait.

You can’t serve two masters. If you pursue craftsmanship in the arts in this day and age, You will naturally have to move at a pace and with an intention that will make you feel like you’re being left behind. We are trying to replace what is irreplaceable with speed and aesthetics and it just can’t be. Now we want our artists brandable, and we want them to be machines, we scarcely give them time to feel their way through their own becoming. This is because the ultimate end goal of art in the life of the artist is self actualization. It takes time and inner focus that is threatened by a world that would have artists make space for neither. The gap is getting wider, there’s almost no way to do inner work and live within the bounds of the machine. It is going to be a lonely road for artists that really want truth, but what else do we have? Dark days at present and darker ahead, nevertheless we must be present for all of it.
