@mattyglesias Yeah, I’d definitely be suspicious. The fact that the big energy companies and big business pacs funded by greedy corps are against him is definitely suspicious because they are classically well known for putting the well being of average citizens first and foremost.

I think we should in general be suspicious of candidates who say their plans will lead to a lot of homebuilding but who can't sell the people who actually build houses on that idea.

Single payer in California means shifting the entire cost of healthcare onto the state budget. California already runs a deficit. It cannot print money like the federal government.
The gap gets filled the same way it always does. Higher taxes. More regulation. More fees. More permits.
The state gets its cut no matter what. Working families pay the difference.
