Meta Predictions for VCT/VCL Stage 1 | All Maps (assuming everyone can play every agent equally) TL;DR Skye. Conservative Estimate but wow. Yoru nerfs don't actually hurt AS much, but there are better options imo Double Init/Ctrl prio Very diverse initator meta Miks is ass LMAO Okay i will go through each map. Abyss - I mean this was already a Yoru-less, Viper-less map so i doubt we will see any changes regarding meta. Personally I think Waylay is stronger on the map compared to Neon with how high her efficiency and volume of FED (First Engagement Delta) + guarenteed / low commit can prevent traps from off-meta picks (Cypher>Neon Counterpick (e.g. TL nAts cypher pick) but I could see Neon as a replacement of Yoru due to her ability to rotate. Having the postplant with Tejo + Astra is what really sells this comp for me. KAY/O is also playable to replace either initiator for ADS. Double Controller is really good for holding both sites. You have one-way on A + good lines for defensive and offensive paranoias. Astra has really good survival smokes which makes defending easier. Sova is sova. Ascent. While not in the pool, I like thinking about maps in the theoretical sense in case we get a similar meta to this one (which i think we will, meta seems healthy/fun/competitive). Everyone knows the LOUD comp, but we will just replace Jett with Waylay (power creep) Not much to say, everyone knows how this comp functions. With Vyse + Cypher nerfs / Viper being unviable, you wont see anyone other than KJ Bind. With Skye buffs, I think skye pickrate will shoot up to 80% on this map. Was already being played somewhat as SOLO initiator, we could even see double initator skye. She has always been good on this map historically. I think any map where Brimstone is viable is also a good map for Neon. Slide + Combat Stim is just disgusting. The basic idea is sliding as Neon + Combat stim has even faster gun equip speed and firerate, so ecos w/ stinger are fucking deadly. Viper is Viper on Bind. Do you need Yoru? I don't know. Probably not, and I think you could sub him out for another init (Fade, KAY/O) depending on who is actually on your team (e.g. NRG Ethan + brawk : KAY/O Skye) social conformity / consistency just says Fade though. if you are going to run Fade, Raze / Waylay become more of an option. Breeze. Obvious double ctrl double init Neon. Neon was already seeing play, Waylay is dog on this map, Yoru tps entries aren't great. Sova Viper obvious, Astra is preferred over Omen bc of range + postplant etc. The one-way is still doable. I don't think this needs much explanation. Corrode. Waylay Viper Astra Fade unchanged, Yoru tps weren't that great to begin with and now Skye is just a terrorist who can get way better early info on any default info / force control over space that Viper wants on attack. Dog has better pathing similar than most maps and guiding light is impossible to dodge when selling a fake if Skye knows how to throw the bird deep a / b main. Fracture is the one that I would be least surprised being wrong about. I think Neon Brim KJ is obvious, this was already a Yoru-less Viper-less map. Omen one-way is removed so it probably be single controller. Fade Phoenix is interesting because really anything can go into that initiator slot and be semi good. Phoenix I think has some really cool ideas. It has already been shown to be good on maps like Pearl and Haven so have FOUR count em FOUR ultimate orbs to take can make his 6 Ult charge happen every round (PAPER REX JINGGG WILL USE THIS PROBABLY) Haven. No notes, it's the same as before. Icebox. Again, this could be one where I am just not with community perception but I believe this comp is the only one that should be run. KJ Viper Sova are required, Sage is pretty much required with how much she simplifies the game and how good her plant is on that map. If you really don't want Omen on this map I would suggest Jett. Waylay is fine but having better defensive pressure with the AWP is going to be way more flexible and forgiving with Jett than Waylay. Neon is not good on Icebox. Lotus. Very similar style as to when it was removed, general idea was that Viper Fade Omen are required, but I think Veto could actually change the way that A Main pressure is thought of and we could be more lenient on A Main pressure for a slower style that this comp support. Alongside Omen, he can TP ontop of Rubble, which makes him another threat that you have to worry about. I think his ability to lock down C might be a little weaker but that is the cost for having a Stronger A fight on both sides. Pearl. No notes, it's the same as before. Split. With the skye buffs, she will re-enter split with +60% pickrate. Viper is required, Astra is imo better than Omen, especially defensively and Waylay Neon can play off Skye dog + Flash very nicely. Sunset. Another Viper-less map. Sage has always been good on this map and should be played more. If people me to explain further in detail, I can release a strat book for a specific map.

@sddsbrumalda @rinasmilee this change didnt kill yoru, but any flash changes affect other flashers, it dont matter if its vs vyse flash lol. skye flash change DEFINITELY affects yoru and u dont know how to play the game if u disagree lol

@rinasmilee if you think a initiator character whose main ability is a flash getting a buff in their flash has something to do with some random ass duelist then you're not gonna make it
