THE DAPO ABIODUN LEGACY: WHY OGUN EAST DESERVES HIS VOICE IN THE SENATE It has become increasingly clear that Ogun State has witnessed one of the most ambitious and transformational periods of governance in its modern history. Across infrastructure, aviation, security, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, agriculture, industrial development, and economic reforms, Governor @DapoAbiodunCON has not only changed the physical landscape of the state but also repositioned Ogun as a leading destination for investment and sustainable growth in Nigeria. From the massive reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads across all senatorial districts, massing housing development across Ogun state to the groundbreaking development of the Gateway International Airport at Iperu-Ilishan, his administration has consistently pursued projects many once considered impossible. Today, Ogun State boasts one of the most strategically positioned airports in Sub-Saharan Africa, with cargo operations, aviation partnerships, and the emergence of Gateway Air already opening new economic opportunities for the people. The administration also introduced electric mobility initiatives, expanded industrial corridors, revived abandoned infrastructure, and strengthened the state’s economic competitiveness. Under Governor Abiodun’s leadership, Ogun State has equally become a national reference point in pension reforms, public sector welfare, fiscal discipline, and investor confidence. Civil servants and pensioners have benefited from consistent salary payments, structured pension reforms under the Contributory Pension Scheme, and the introduction of Additional Pension Benefits designed to improve retirees’ welfare. His government has aggressively pursued energy reforms, industrial expansion, digital governance, and security interventions while maintaining one of the most stable economic environments in the country. In healthcare and education, the administration has continued to invest heavily in upgrading primary healthcare centres, hospitals, schools, technical institutions, and digital learning infrastructure. The government’s agricultural revolution, support for food security initiatives, and rural road interventions have further strengthened local economies and improved livelihoods across communities. Politically, Governor Abiodun has demonstrated uncommon maturity, consensus-building capacity, and party leadership. His ability to unite stakeholders across tendencies within the All Progressives Congress has continued to strengthen party cohesion in Ogun State. Even at the national level, his strategic role in major party assignments, including the successful coordination of the APC National Convention, further affirmed his growing influence and administrative competence. As conversations around the Ogun East Senatorial District continue to gain momentum, many political observers believe that Governor Abiodun’s wealth of executive experience, developmental record, and network of national relationships make him exceptionally qualified for the Senate. Beyond politics, his understanding of governance, economic development, infrastructure financing, public administration, and national policymaking positions him as a strong voice Ogun East would greatly benefit from at the National Assembly. What makes his aspiration even more compelling is the undeniable reality that none of the current contenders within the political space can point to a governance record, institutional reforms, infrastructural achievements, or transformational impact on the scale witnessed under the Abiodun administration. While others may campaign on promises and projections, Governor Abiodun’s political strength is rooted in visible performance, measurable development, and tangible achievements spread across every part of Ogun State.

There are many frontier companies in the world that require world class technical talent; SpaceX, Anthropic, OpenAi, TSMC, Boeing, etc. How many Nigerians work there? We can google the most cited AI papers, how many were written by Nigerians?

@okoyedonaldson Yeah, I wonder why there are no Americans working for a chip company based in Taiwan? As if Nvidia doesn’t exist. I wonder what the argument here is.

so this is why people have been mad, for all the arguments in support of talent shortage, this is a very callous way of making an argument. the fact is yahoo and hookup culture arent even to blame. less than 1% of young nigerians are involved in these lifestyle to make such a generalized statement. Also a leader in the industry making such drivel at a forum is just giving ammunition to those who already profile nigerians as incompetent at best and fraudulent at worst and use such spurious justification to deny nigerians opportunities they are qualified for. This is disgusting

“I used to feel Nigerians are really bright. We’ve had over 500 vacancies since 2024, and we’re still struggling to find Nigerians to fill those roles. They don’t meet global standards. I blame social media, yahoo and hook up culture..” — Tosin Eniolorunda, Moniepoint CEO

This is what a slum area in South Korea looks like. Old township areas with cramped roads and not enough car parking spaces. They're largely inhibited by old and poorer people.
