The overreactions from 3 games is just comical to me. Guys don’t even have 20 ABs and we are shipping them to Mars. Sure, I want the Red Sox to get going and not dig themselves a hole. But this team will be fine. 162 is a long, long season.

It’s not that the Red Sox are off to a slow start that pisses me off (you can still come back to Fenway 2-4 and be fine by the end of April) it’s that not a SINGLE part of this team showed up to start the year. You can say that we can’t prove that the D was addressed at this point, but by that same token you can’t prove the power wasn’t addressed at this point. If Roman and Abreu each pop 30 HRs and Story and Contreras each pop 25, it’s solved.

@LukeT39 @BallParkBuzz What was addressed? Lack of power was the elephant in the room and that wasn’t addressed. Roster having too many outfielders wasn’t addressed. We got a 1B which is great, but it would’ve been nice to address the power issue at the same time. We’ll see about team defense.

Well, that was a deflating way to lose your first series of the season. Connelly Early deserved better. Yes, Greg Weissert crapped down his leg, but the Red Sox offense is going to need to do more than this. 0-for-6 with RISP... and a .179 mark for this series. You were able to cut down the strikeouts compared to yesterday, but just very little overall impact. Can’t be only Wilyer Abreu putting you on his back and you can’t afford dumb mistakes on the bases.

How about this… Asked a kid I work with (with his mother present) if he’s ever played a full game. Meaning no time limit and a full 6+ innings. They said no. He’s now 13 and has never played a full length game. Literally every hame he’s ever played has been on a time limit. Interesting where the youth game has gone.

@JustinM0282 @BaseballDudes48 I think the problem extends well beyond 11 and 12u. Watching a 14u club game now between two “good” teams. No outs in the bottom of the 3rd, one team has 8 walks. Other team has 7 runs on 3 hits. This is the highest level of club play for 14u in New England.

@originaljamied @BaseballDudes48 My idea would be to begin this format at 11 or 12 years old. Or you could implement a run rule per inning to guard against that.
