According to the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, Iran has allowed for more leeway on their terms for negotiations with the U.S. over a lasting ceasefire agreement. Per the report, Iran has dropped the precondition that the U.S. end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz before negotiating on a ceasefire and has also proposed discussing their nuclear program in exchange for a reduction of the U.S. sanctions regime. Iran has also reportedly signaled that it is prepared to return to the negotiating table in Pakistan as soon as next week.

BREAKING: A source close to Ghalibaf says in direct response to the US seizing Iranian oil shipments bound for China, the Chinese government has issued new regulations allowing confiscation of assets belonging to any foreign government or company that disrupts its supply chain. China is also factoring in US military constraints from the Iran conflict as it assesses a potential strike on Taiwan.

Today, as part of Economic Fury, Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated 35 entities and individuals that oversee Iran’s shadow banking architecture and facilitate the movement of the equivalent of tens of billions of dollars. These networks allow Iran’s armed forces—including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps—to access the international financial system to receive payment for illicit oil sales, purchase sensitive components for missiles and other weapons systems, and transfer money to Iran’s terrorist proxies.

If Iran is willing to open Straits to prewar rules (i.e. no rules) Trump should drop blockade. Otherwise, no way out or a chance to get something on nukes. Blockade can be reimposed -as can closure of Straits. Hard to swallow an Iranian win. The price of a poorly thought out war.

Fuck off. Keep blocking Hormuz. Starve them out. Wait for revolt. Game over.
US Homeland Security News@defense_civil25

🚨Update: Iran sent the U.S. a new offer 10 minutes after Pakistan talks were canceled: Here is there proposal - 1. U.S. guarantee of non-aggression — A binding commitment from the U.S. (and allies) against future attacks on Iran, confirmed by the UN Security Council! 2. Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz — Iran retains full control, including possibly regulating passage and charging fees on shipping (a major economic and strategic demand). 3. Restrictions on Iranian nuclear activities for 10 years, but also Acceptance of Iran’s right to uranium enrichment — Formal recognition of Iran’s nuclear enrichment activities (for civilian purposes, per Iran), with Iran committing not to build nuclear weapons. 4–5. Lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions — Removal of direct U.S. sanctions on Iran and sanctions on third parties doing business with Iran. 6–7. Termination of UN Security Council and IAEA resolutions against Iran (related to its nuclear program and other issues). 8. Reparations/compensation for war damages to Iran (infrastructure, military, etc.). 9. U.S. military withdrawal from the region (combat forces from bases in the Middle East). 10. Cessation of hostilities on all fronts — End to regional wars, including against Iran’s allies/proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon, and broader “Axis of Resistance” groups.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) continues to maintain a potent asymmetric naval threat in the Strait of Hormuz despite heavy losses to Iran’s conventional naval forces, a Hudson Institute report said. The report said the IRGC relies on so-called “mosquito fleet” tactics, including swarm operations, naval mines and drones, to preserve its ability to disrupt maritime traffic in the Gulf. "Many of the IRGC Navy’s fast-attack crafts are inexpensive, lightly built, highly mobile, and often armed with short-range anti-ship missiles, rockets, and heavy machine guns. Some vessels are even configured as explosive-laden suicide crafts," the report said. It added that while Iran’s conventional navy has been significantly degraded, its asymmetric capabilities remain largely intact.

Under Economic Fury, @USTreasury will continue to systematically degrade Tehran’s ability to generate, move, and repatriate funds. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is sanctioning multiple wallets tied to Iran — resulting in the freeze of $344 million in cryptocurrency. We will follow the money that Tehran is desperately attempting to move outside of the country and target all financial lifelines tied to the regime.

Maybe not a popular take but I am calling for this guy to be pardoned. Unless the DOJ plans on going after all the crooks in congress currently insider trading, this is simply skewed justice. There is no “justice” when guys like this get the book thrown at him yet members are illegally profiting every day. I don’t agree with what he did and he should be required to disgorge all the profits however, unless the DOJ plans on doing Congress next, this is not justice.

DOJ releases more information about the U.S. soldier who won more than $400,000 by betting on Maduro's removal. Gannon Ken van Dyke could face up to 60 years in prison on all charges. Prosecutors are also seizing the money he won.

We’re in the middle of a pretty important naval blockade standoff with a country we’ve threatened to destroy, so it seems like a weird time for the Secretary of the Navy to abruptly depart. And by “weird” I mean, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
Sean Parnell@SeanParnellASW

STATEMENT: Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan is departing the administration, effective immediately. On behalf of the Secretary of War and Deputy Secretary of War, we are grateful to Secretary Phelan for his service to the Department and the United States Navy. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Undersecretary Hung Cao will become Acting Secretary of the Navy.

There is a right way to play this game and a wrong way and this is 100% in the wrong. I don’t care that the batter moved back out of the box- you don’t intentionally step back to throw at her head, as hard as you can, from about a foot away. I don’t want to hear “you don’t know it wasn’t intentional.” Save it. The runner at 3rd is about a half step off 3rd. The way the catcher is positioned to throw, that throw is going towards the 3rd base fence. The most telling part though? No one checks on that batter and catcher gets a high five right after from her coach. The batter ended up with a concussion. This is completely unacceptable and has no place in this sport.
