Following the release of Daniele's article outlining Anon's plan to build the Abstraction Layer, Research, and Execution Layer, we’ve seen a surge of interest in projects operating at the intersection of DeFi and AI. ———————————————— Abstraction Layers Competition Heats Up The competition is intensifying with $GRIFFAIN, $GRIFT, and $NEUR all vying for dominance as $ANON enters the scene. Notably, $GRIFT surged over 2x yesterday before a slight retrace, now holding a valuation higher than $NEUR. Meanwhile, $PRIME has caught renewed attention. It remains the only way to gain exposure to @AIWayfinder’s $PROMPT, which is shaping up to be a potential billion-dollar play. Daniele Introduces Gemma Daniele unveiled Gemma, a blockchain research agent within the Hey Anon ecosystem. Whether they can achieve this remains to be seen. $TONY on the Rise On the back of DeFAI growth and Cod3x developments, $TONY has been steadily gaining momentum in price action. ———————————————— Personal Thoughts I’ve mentioned Cod3x and Big Tony in several pieces because of their unique approach to designing DeFi ecosystems around their DeFAI components. Their CDP (cdxUSD) is central, enabling robust liquidity and facilitating the construction of DeFi legos within the DeFI x AI ecosystem. Looking ahead, the competition in the Abstraction Layer space will likely see clear winners emerge across different niches: - A general-purpose platform with exceptional UI/UX for everyday on-chain activities. - A solution for advanced, complex DeFi use cases. - A platform focused on automation and trading. The race for autonomous trading agents is also heating up. Investing in DeFAI leaders enabling high-quality trading agents might be the way to go. Beyond Cod3x, platforms like @loomlayai and @ASYM41b07 are gaining traction, with ASYM agents already showing 3-4x backtested performance. However, we haven’t yet seen agents delivering consistent outsize returns in live environment. When that day comes, the question will be: “How do we know it’s an agent and not a human?” This is where DeAI infrastructure will play a crucial role, and I anticipate this narrative will pick up once the need becomes clear.
