On Tuesday, I also took part in the ECE showcase, where I had the opportunity to present my project, speak to attendees about my work, and explore the other projects created by students across the faculty. It was a great experience overall.

For my final year project, I developed a jobs app designed to help disabled people search for jobs based on their accessibility needs, check reviews and post reviews about companies. In the future, I aim to add more features in the app and expand its scope futher.

I’m delighted that I won two awards for my final year project at the ECE (Engineering, Computing and Environment) Showcase this week which are the Winner’s Award for Inclusive Value and the Inclusive Value Award in Computer Science across the faculty at Kingston University. 🧵

A friend gave Meghan a bag with this quote: “My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who and how you are to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness, and to allow humor to lighten the burden of your tender heart”.

We left Cuba yesterday after a profound experience of learning about how the US blockade is causing Cubans to suffer. We return to the US with more conviction and urgency to end the US blockade on Cuba. Cuba is not alone!

This is why many disabled people are rightly concerned about Assisted Dying. If AD is funded and available but a wheelchair ramp isn’t, what does that say about the attitudes towards disabled people?
Spin Decoders@leith1076

"Gauthier, who has been trying to get a wheelchair ramp installed at her home for the past five years, testified on Thursday that a caseworker told her that they could give her assisted dying, even offering to supply the MAID equipment for her." ctvnews.ca/politics/artic…

Update: Feeling unsafe Savannah self-discharged & left QEH in a private ambulance. Even with the CEO of a national charity advocating in person, Guy’s refused to admit her. After waiting over two hours in the ambulance, she was forced to return to QEH. gofundme.com/f/severemergen…

Update on Savannah: They are now urgently seeking any UK doctors or hospitals willing to provide TPN and restart cyclizine. If no safe option is found, they are even considering treatment abroad. If you have suggestions, please fill in the form tally.so/r/81KxGO

It was very important to me that Hamnah Spencer clarified her 'it's not radical to expect that working hard will get you a nice life' comment with 'and I don't think that if you're not able to work that you shouldn't have a nice life'. Too many left-leaning figures don't do that.

Access to Work has just cut my in-work support by 73% Quite how they decided I can see 73% better & walk 73% better, is beyond me. But I sure am looking forward to receiving the magic (inaccessible) letter arriving that will tell me about this miracle cure.

@cgb_journo They couldn’t even put another handrail in the patient toilets. In the end I left the pharmacy profession and changed my career, due to accessibility issues and discrimination. The constant fighting for my basic rights affected my mental health and I became ill at that time. 3/

@cgb_journo Sometimes there were no handrails or they were broken. The height of toilets were low and there were many other issues. Even the disabled toilets outside the wards weren’t always fully accessible. No reasonable adjustments were made for me as promised. 2/

Disabled people please read and share. Today NHS England has told me they hold no data on whether hospitals are step free and do not monitor compliance with equality law. That means no one nationally is checking if hospital buildings are physically accessible. I am a blind journalist investigating this. Have you been unable to use a main hospital entrance? Sent round the back? Forced to rely on staff? Missed appointments because of access barriers? Treated as an afterthought? If this has happened to you your experience matters. Please reply or email accessstory2026@gmail.com with what happened and where.
