The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) and the @RenfrewWolves are pleased to announce goaltender Kale Osipenko has signed with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The 2008 born Renfrew, ON, CAN, native was in his first season in the CCHL and second with the Renfrew organization where he played for the Renfrew Timberwolves of the Easter Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL). Osipenko held a record of 11-5-1-1, a 2.41 goals against average, and a .930% save percentage through 18 games played this season. Congratulations, Kale! 📸 icelevel.com

#ONStorm #ONwx ❗️RARE “BOMB CYCLONE” POSSIBLE ON MONDAY! While we continue working on a detailed forecast for this major winter storm expected to impact Ontario, we wanted to give you an early look at just how powerful this system is shaping up to be. The latest data suggests this storm could undergo a fairly rare and dramatic intensification as it tracks through the Great Lakes from Sunday into Monday. This type of rapid strengthening is known as a “bomb cyclone”, which occurs when atmospheric pressure drops by 24 millibars or more within a 24 hour period. Current model guidance shows pressure falling from the mid 990s Sunday evening to the low 970s by Monday morning, which would put this system right near that threshold. The last time we saw a storm intensify this quickly was during the pre Christmas blizzard of 2022, which brought crippling blizzard conditions to parts of Southwestern Ontario. This has the potential to be a very memorable storm for both Southern and Northern Ontario. Impacts could range from ice storm conditions in parts of Central and Eastern Ontario to heavy snowfall totals approaching 50cm in Northern Ontario. On top of that, damaging wind gusts nearing 100 km/h are possible, especially for areas close to the Great Lakes. Much more detail coming very soon as we refine the forecast. - Brennen
