@prinkasusa So all these WASPI women are lying about being destitute because they were given the same retirement age as men?
Huyton-with-Roby, England 🇬🇧 English

I’m going to piss some men off with this, but the reason a lot of your parents and grandparents stayed married so long is because the women in those generations were financially trapped. When a woman makes her own money, the only thing a man can truly offer her is how he treats her. That's why there's a male loneliness epidemic.

@10DowningStreet @Keir_Starmer Was the y missed off every so that when it is shown that you haven't pulled every lever you can deny ever having said it?
English

@GMK1706 @Saskiaaa_____ Using the same argument, minimum wage doesn't matter because if they have the skills etc, their salary will increase.
Huyton-with-Roby, England 🇬🇧 English

@Saskiaaa_____ If your regular salary hasn’t gone up it indicates a you problem, a skill issue or a lack of motivation to seek better
English

£26436.80 is the new min wage annual salary (40 hrs p/wk).
And as the min wage rises, regular salaries don't. So many people will begin to ask themselves 'why am I working this highly stressful job that needed qualifications and a tonne of bullshit paperwork and police checks just to earn 5k more a year than I would stacking shelves at Lidl?'
English

@MosiniElisa No-one ever said we couldn't cooperate with the EU. But it is possible to do that from the outside as we do with nations around the World.

I will always make decisions that are in the national interest.
It’s why we aren’t getting dragged into the Middle East conflict, and why we are fighting to protect your living standards.
And while opposition parties have responded by dividing communities, we respond with hope and pride.
Pride in our communities, and the hope of a country that’s better for our children.
That’s what we’re fighting for. Vote Labour on Thursday 7 May.

@ZackPolanski Because the other marches are against something that exists?
English

How can the BBC justify how much coverage they give other marches which are significantly smaller in size?
The bias is so obviously blatant.

@williamnhutton And the percentage of total energy usage?
Huyton-with-Roby, England 🇬🇧 English

Ed Miliband gets relentless bile from the right for his ‘ideological’ commitment to clean, cheap renewable energy - just as Nye Bevan once did for creating the NHS. Yet on March 25 97.7 % of our electricity was from renewables. A revolution is unfolding. observer.co.uk/news/columnist…

@Eddystone506 @RoryMaw Please show your workings out in full detail to obtain full marks. That's maths.
Huyton-with-Roby, England 🇬🇧 English

@RoryMaw 1) Brexit far more damaging than Covid
2) Even Leave fantasies can't undo simple compounding.
0.5% lost growth per year = £1 trillion cumulative by 2030.

@StuartBarclay11 @RacingTV @RandoxHealth @AintreeRaces Throw in Liverpool playing at home starting 5.30pm and it becomes ludicrous.
English

@RacingTV @RandoxHealth @AintreeRaces Surely the Grand National should have been run this weekend? 2 weeks after cheltenham, no football competition it would have been the centre of the sporting world.
Weather nice and cool, rain on the way.
Seems a huge opportunity missed
English

After today's forfeits, the top 34 engaged in the £1m @RandoxHealth Grand National. 25/1 chance Panic Attack guaranteed a run! @AintreeRaces

@robprogressive Perhaps they already have financial security and just want a bit of short-term fun.

A lady in front of me in the queue spent £58.70 on the lottery
3 people before her all bought lottery tickets, spending £2 to £12
The odds of winning the lottery in the UK are 1 in 45,057,474
This highlights everything that is wrong with how people are taught about money in this country
That £2 or £5 or £10 a week, if invested & compounded over decades, could meaningfully contribute to their future financial security
English

@m9QD6L4IgW @socialistp40357 If that was the case, you would expect the assisted dying bill to breeze through.
English

@socialistp40357 Spending money on non productive people is just seen as a waste. That's why also healthcare is becoming increasingly worse and more expensive everywhere.
English

@QueenJenbo @ZackPolanski @JamesEFoster Oh, the old insults trick against anyone who disagrees with you. How kind.
English

@ZackPolanski @JamesEFoster I see the mudslingers are trying extra hard today 🙄
How stupid they look to oppose the things you’ve mentioned here.

@ZackPolanski So your solution for the NHS is to just throw more money at it? If you go and spend some time in a hospital, you will see wasted resources wherever you look.

@progambler47 Unless you understand the concept of risk and reward and capacity for loss.
