i am begging academics to study AI capabilities using frontier models. the models used in this study (which is going to be cited for years as proof that "AI is bad at health advice") are GPT-4o, Llama 3, and Command R+, two obsolete models and one i've never heard of.

@oso @GKuhlenschmidt Mmm quizá por una razón: el no hablar español si crea aislamiento social, no hay interacción real la comunidad. Creo ese sería el tema que más ruido hace. Y hola!!! Ojalá nos veamos pronto!

Admittedly, I care more about equality of consumption than net worth. But still, it’s totally bonkers.

With 10% annual returns, he’d be worth $7.6 trillion. That’s adjusted for inflation!

I remember all the commentary just 3 year’s ago that Musk purchasing Twitter would drive him into insolvency. And somehow three years later he’s worth $677B and his net worth has gone up over $200B just in the past couple of months? It’s bonkers.

Sports betting has skyrocketed in recent years: exploding from less than $5 billion annually to $150 billion after the 2018 Supreme Court ruling. This expansion has outpaced our understanding of its consequences. AIBM research shows legalized sports betting is linked to rising bankruptcies, lower credit scores, and financial distress.

Sports betting can be a fun, occasional hobby or a compulsion, leaving young men in financial distress. The solutions to ensure it's the former, not the latter, are technically straightforward if politically messy. Read our new report co-authored by @roundrobin42 & @JonathanDCohen1. And big thanks to @Arnold_Ventures for supporting!

AI can help sportsbooks fine-tune their odds. It can also figure out when users are most likely to place bigger or riskier bets, pinpoint who's prone to making bad ones and target them with ads at their most vulnerable moments, says @oso. axios.com/2025/12/14/spo…
