Here is another video of the Shaykh explaining that the ruling of the Shareeah he was explaining IS ONLY MEANT FOR COUNTRIES WHERE THE SHARIAH IS FULLY BEING PRACTISED and it is meant to be carried out by the authorities through the Shariah Court NOT BY any random person or the mob as we've seen in some part of the country. Once again, what he was explaining is firmly established in our religion, similar ruling exists in Christianity too. For context: In Deuteronomy 13 (KJV), the death penalty is prescribed in three situations. The relevant passages are: 1. False prophet or dreamer (Verse 5) > "And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee." — Deuteronomy 13:5 (KJV) 2. A close relative or friend who entices you to worship other gods (Verses 8–10) > "Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:" > "But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." > "And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage." — Deuteronomy 13:8–10 (KJV) 3. I actually don't think this is true, I think people have morals that are independent of their justification for those morals. For example, someone isn't murdering their wealthy neighbour because of hellfire, they're just not doing it because of their internal morals, hellfire is just a justification that comes after. If they turned Buddhist or atheist, they still wouldn't murder their neighbour, they'd just find new justification for their already held morals. That's why even within religion, people differ vastly in demeanour and integrity, the religion isn't actually tracking anything, their morals exist and each person then uses the religion to justify their own actions.

This is both amusing and deeply concerning. Islam is not a cult, and the ḥadīth cited by the speaker has been presented in a way that strips it of its historical, legal, and textual context. Such misrepresentation is one of the recurring problems in some contemporary religious discourses. What makes this particularly troubling is the speaker's reach and influence, especially among young Muslims. When sacred texts are quoted without the interpretive framework developed by generations of qualified scholars, they can inadvertently reinforce ideas that resemble the rhetoric used by extremist and terrorist groups to justify violence. Islam is not a religion of coercion. The Qur'an explicitly states, "There is no compulsion in religion" (Qur'ān 2:256). The oft-quoted ḥadīth concerning apostasy cannot be understood in isolation from its historical, political, and juristic context. Classical and contemporary scholars have long discussed its scope, conditions, and application. Presenting it as a blanket command to kill anyone who leaves Islam is a serious oversimplification that neither reflects the richness of the Islamic legal tradition nor serves the cause of sound scholarship.

He joined Northern Region civil service in Kaduna as quantity surveyor and settled in Kaduna 7. He later quit to start private construction consultancy, getting many jobs including World Bank works 8. In 1980, he set up a biscuits factory in Offa, his hometown. That's Okin Biscuits 9. He became a top business leader in Nigeria from the 1980s, being ont he board of top companies, including AfriBank (where he served as chairman) 10. He also established Adesoye College in Offa in 1987 11. His businesses continued to flourish and he relocated to Offa from Kaduna 12. He died in 2017.

Civilized people hate voice notes because they’re inherently rude. A voice note is easy to send but hard to receive, since one must interrupt oneself and listen. To send someone a voice note is to say "My time is more valuable than yours." It’s insulting.

After learning about the positive flank effect, I'm beginning to see the utility of revolutionaries. Since revolutionaries are great at using sexy slogans to catalyse the anger and grievance of the masses into action, they are able to apply pressure to the status quo. By extension, the reformists and pragmatists (the people who actually understand statecraft and make systems durable) get taken seriously by the pressured ruling class which ultimately leads to positive change. The only caveat is to ensure revolutionaries never actually attain power, else be prepared for state of constant unrest, civil wars, structural collapse and terror 🥴
