@davecorviddave @Sarah_zee123 Would have been rules on how far into the house. Still have them today.
English

@Sarah_zee123 Brilliant! 🤣
On the location though, is that as far as the GPO would venture or is that where people wanted it?

This is my story, my daughter’s school.
The Headteacher and Local Authority to date have refused to explain to me how they ensured my daughter’s safety and dignity.
The safeguarding issues are off the scale.

It's hard to sack someone; I only managed it once. However I have managed a fair number of people out of my team, but that always came from a place of love. It's awful being incompetent or ill-fitted for a role; it's kinder to help the sufferer find a more suitable role.
Starmer desperately needs to be managed out, he looks miserably out of his depth and is clinging on out of mulishness and pride; he'd be happier in a process-driven role with no client contact.

No, I don’t understand the UK government’s position on Iran either.

A message from Iran:
"Please, for God’s sake, whoever you are, listen to me.
Yesterday we went to retrieve the body of someone we knew. In the morgue, you can clearly hear voices—people saying “help.” They are injecting them with ampoules. They are still killing many who could be saved.
The massacre is continuing. They are slaughtering our loved ones.
Why is no one hearing us? Do something. The situation is catastrophic. If even a hundred people are saved, that’s a hundred families who won’t be left in mourning.
Do you know that every day, under the name of “those killed in Dey,” they are taking the lives of people who could still be brought back to life—by injections and by locking them in cold storage? They are deliberately wasting time.
I don’t know anymore how to beg, how to swear, what to say. Just look around you—they are committing crimes.
Tomorrow it will be your sister, your brother, your family. They are buying time while committing crimes. Every second, someone’s life is being taken."

@EmpiresPodcast @MeghanEMurphy Women get offered testosterone in menopause to increase their libido to keep their husbands happy. Medical misogyny.
English

I think a big part of it are hormones. A lot of of these women should probably be going to a specialist and getting a bunch of lab work done. If their hormone levels are all normal then yeah, it’s most likely a relationship issue. But a sudden or gradual dropping libido I don’t believe is as “natural“ is most people saying it is.
English

This is... not how it works.
Women want to have lots of sex early on and then often get less enthused about it as the years pass.
It's not a trick, it's just how a lot of women's libidos work.

As pointed out by Ms Hunter (& brilliantly ripped up by @WingsScotland), the number of people claiming to be trans-id males in Scotland is 3,088 (transmen = 3307 not specified = 3111).
This actually makes certain offending & prison stats so very much worse. Let's have a look!

These authors wanted to know whether mothers face discrimination in hiring, even when they are equally qualified as other applicants.
So they ran two experiments.
First, a lab experiment: participants evaluated pairs of identical job applicants who differed only in parental status.
Then, a real-world audit study: they sent 1,200+ job applications to real employers for entry- and mid-level jobs.
They randomized whether applicants were:
– Mothers (based on serving on the PTA)
– Childless women (they were listed as volunteering in a non-parent specific role)
– Fathers (based on serving on the PTA)
– Childless men (they were listed as volunteering in a non-parent specific role)
All applicants had identical qualifications.
Then they tracked evaluations, salary recommendations, and employer callbacks.
They found that:
Mothers were rated as less competent and less committed than equally qualified childless women.
Mothers were held to stricter standards, offered lower salaries, and were far less likely to be hired or promoted.
In the field experiment, real employers called back childless women at more than twice the rate of mothers.
Fathers, by contrast, faced no penalty and sometimes received a bonus.
Bottom line:
The “motherhood penalty” is real, causal, and driven by discrimination, not differences in ability.
As the authors put it:
“Giving evidence of being a mother leads to discrimination against mothers in hiring and pay.”

@robjessel16 Accounts prepared on a going concern basis - e.g. not going bust in the remaining 3 months of the current financial year. Also comments here that they will prioritise spend on most pressing issues (trans and non binary). Looks like it won't go bust, but not support LGB much

@glosswitch @MorrisBrightMBE @JamesAHogg2 I thought the common was alongside wimbledon. "Wombles of wimbledon common are we" meant they were the wombles of wimbledon common.
English

@MorrisBrightMBE @JamesAHogg2 I never believed that, but my partner and I both misunderstood "common are we" in the Wombles theme tune, only in different ways (he thought common as in there are loads of them, I thought common as in "common as muck" because of all the litter)

@diorvijane Being offered testosterone as a menopausal women so I'll want sex with my husband more as its important for a marriage. I suggested he instead lower my husband's levels.
