Your favorite #crypto influencer is busy bragging about their "gains" but they'll lose it all in 1 trade and I promise you that you won't hear a thing about it! 🎭 Keep reading, it will all come back around to this point 👆 + I posted a #bearish #EGLD yesterday warning of the danger of fixating on USD charts, so keep reading for $EGLD T.A. as well✍️ #EGLD is @MultiversX 🧠 #UseEGLD Ok, so from the start of my career on @X, I've preached nonstop & followed my long-term strategy to buy, #hodl & accumulate passive income - #compounding interest along the way. I started my investment journey in 2017, in the midst of earning my degree in personal financial planning where I learned the basics of a financial plan and built my foundation around concepts such as #Diversification, #Risk management, Asset allocation, Tax efficiency and Investment goals. I was learning all these concepts and my curiosity was "why can't I apply all these savings and investment concepts towards cryptocurrency?" After all, I has just discovered #bitcoin and quickly saw its value as a way to send money #p2p without a financial intermediary. Beginning in 2017, I began storing the money I was making into these new digital assets, riding the waves of volatility as Bitcoin broke $20k for the first time, crashed to $3.2k, then recovered and broke all-time highs to $69k in the previous #bull run. My long-term plan *in my head* was that the money I was investing in crypto would "work out for me" within 5-10 years. I never expected my net worth to skyrocket above 7-figures within just a couple years. When you don't expect something like that, you don't plan for it. After all, I didn't want to tease or fool myself by creating a "plan for becoming a millionaire". 👉My plan was - and still is - to invest aggressively into #crypto in my 20's and pay off my bucket of student loans. See, while I could increase my risk tolerance and try to make trades to earn money faster, I've already run that course and learned that the best money to make is slow-earned and hard-fought. Earning too much money too fast may quickly over-boost your confidence and lead you into some of the most dangerous behaviors! Just look at some of the bragging I see on the internet and I can already see that hubris will get the best of many. Now I am saying this as a relatively immature 20-something, but we as humans can never really remove our own humanism. In year 2024 my position is all the same: long-term mindset and compound interest along the way, only moving forward I now bear with me the wounds (and hopefully lessons learned) from previous cycles that led me to over-invest into the wrong assets at the wrong time and with the improper leverage. The best lessons to learn are likely the toughest, and instead of getting jealous of these "gains" others brag about, focus on your own journey and trust that you will find your own path among the madness. Okay, I'll step off my soapbox and get into the #technicalanalysis 📈📉⚖️ Today's Lesson is the importance of key levels: Price bounces up and down with volatility, and since #crypto is highly accessible, so are the emotions that send the charts in different directions. Traders become impatient when their trades are yielding the return they want as quickly as they want it; whether they are in the green or red, when they see another asset performing better, they are likely to jump ship and onboard elsewhere #fomo'ing in based on impulse rather than conviction. Over long timeframes such as the charts above depict, key levels are formed that show where the longer-term money is situated. Investors use these levels to discern a fair price for their entry, and calculate risk-to-reward profiles for each of their entries. On the way down - likely during bear markets - areas of support green-light buyers to make entries. When these areas of support break, they often become resistance: people sell-off the asset nearby the levels they bought them to offset their overall losses. Conversely, in an uptrend, areas of resistance that are broken to the upside oftentimes act as areas of support for those that missed the breakout move to accumulate more of the asset at lower prices, or "at discount". During the bear market, $EGLD has constructed one of these key levels based off supply/demand, and until the area of support definitively breaks, buyers should be reliant on this level to accumulate more #EGLD. If price breaches support and moves lower, we look to our 'lower support zone' to move our focus of accumulation. Now let's look at some indictors to help paint a picture to check our biases and confirm/deny our conviction... It's always important to remember that no indicator is a crystal ball to tell the future 🔮- only a collection of indicators and fundamentals should lead us to push buy/sell. For #hodlers, the action should only be a question of → "do I add more to my long-term position?" which points to those long-term levels of supply/demand. Here we have an unclear picture: our long-term indicators tend to provide the most confidence, yet the longer term (2-week) candle just cross #bearish, while the lower timeframe (3-day) candles are showing bullish divergence as @mexto1dollar points out below. 👇 In wrapping up our dive into technical analysis, it's crucial to emphasize the significance of buying at key levels. Amidst the flurry of activity and tempting gains in other #digitalassets, it's easy to fall prey to FOMO and chase the excitement. However, let's take a moment to reflect on Bitcoin's journey... The #whitepaper emerged in 2008, yet it took a staggering 16 years for enough recognition and adoption to pave the way for traditional markets to consider it for an #ETF. For some #traders, the focus is on quick gains, following the volume and #hype. But for others, like myself, it's about positioning for the long term, skating not to where the puck is right now, but where it's going. This mentality has been the cornerstone of my financial success. While my long-term plan faced unexpected interruptions due to rapid gains and overconfidence, I'm proud to say that my portfolio has still seen nearly a 5x increase since its inception in 2017. So, as we navigate the unpredictable waters of the crypto market, let's remember to anchor ourselves in conviction, driven by fundamentals and tech. Let's resist the allure of short-term gains and instead focus on the enduring value of strategic, long-term investments. In Oct. 2021 and with 300 followers, I started my journey on @X writing content about was then called Elrond Network... Just over 2 years later, I have 17 thousand followers and Elrond Network is now @MultiversX. 🔥 Why am I really here? 🤔✍️ Firstly, I am here to be part of the vast community on @X, but more specifically I wanted my voice to be heard that I am stood up for @MultiversX - what I believe to be one of the best Layer-1 blockchains in the world: The tech was built from the ground up and the team always sought to build a better foundation such that $BTC and $ETH laid the framework for. #EGLD is a sharded, scalable solution that has the potential to bring #blockchain to all extents of the earth and change the way the world interacts with time, money and its society.
