Preprint Alert! 🚨🚨🚨 Exciting collaboration between my group, @MarcBoudvillain’s group and @bpbratton! From populations experimentally evolved to extreme feast/famine cycles, we find pH-sensing rho alleles that confer pH-dependent plasticity in transcription termination!

New #preprint from our lab! Here, PhD student @StarlCone has developed an R package (CoMMA) to annotate and identify differential 6mA methylation in microbes from Nanopore data. With CoMMA he observes relaxed selection on 6mA in Exp. evolved E.coli clones without mismatch repair.

Happy to share that a preprint is up for my 1st 1st-author publication! I wrote an R package for analyzing 6mA methylation in bacteria with Nanopore data. 6mA is dynamic! Less methylation around promoters, breakdown in 6mA over time w/o MMR. All the hits inside the paper!
