We often get asked about orphanages in Gaza. In Islam, the definition of an orphan is a child who lost their mother OR father, or both. Support orphan camps: chuffed.org/project/166623… In Gaza, if a child loses one parent they stay with the other but if they lose both, most of the time an aunt or an uncle from the family adopts them. It is extremely rare that a child is left all alone and with the very exceptional cases where this happens, the child is taken to the UNICEF camp. This gorgeous little one that you see dancing lives in the Amal French Orphanage Camp in Khan Younis. This camp accepts widows (women) and children only, where they get care and support from mutual aid groups.
