@itsolelehmann That’s great, but it is not true to say that it is Europe’s first commercial orbital launch. Arianespace has been doing amazing launchers for decades. This is a small innovative launcher, very different from Arianespace mainly private funding but not the first commercial one!

They told Europe "you can't compete with SpaceX." But a new Munich startup just raised €350M to prove everyone wrong. Now their Spectrum rocket is set to make history as Europe's FIRST commercial orbital launch. How Isar Aerospace is rewriting Europe's space future 🧵:

@elonmusk Actually, sex and gender are distinct concepts. Sex relates to biological attributes like chromosomes&anatomy, while gender involves roles, behaviors, and identity shaped by society. Even bones reflect biological sex, but gender is a social and personal experience.

@RnaudBertrand His response is extremely irrespectfull and should not stay without some consequences. But because the EU practices the rule of law, it cannot be because the owner of X insults an EU commissioner that X is banned in the EU. And I think it THIS one of the strength of the EU.

An interesting observation is that I'm pretty certain that Musk would never dare in a million years to do the same with senior U.S. or Chinese officials. If he told a senior Chinese official to "f*ck his own face" in such a public fashion, his entire China operations would probably be history in less than 24 hours and he'd be universally hated in China. And rightly so. I'm pretty certain that he'd face hard accountability in the US too if he insulted senior officials trying to legislate X in such a way. That should make Europeans reflect, that a U.S. billionaire allows himself to publicly insult their most senior officials that way. I hate EU institutions, and Thierry Breton in particular, with a profound passion. And I'm against the ridiculous censorship they're trying to put in place. But I, and I think most Europeans, still have some degree of pride. And an American billionaire allowing himself to insult folks who remain our representatives (however horrible they are at their job) is profoundly disturbing to me. Disturbing because it symbolizes the naked contempt that capital has for the public sphere, and disturbing also because it symbolizes the EU's lack of sovereignty that an American billionaire can think - probably correctly - that he can insult our officials with impunity. If I were a European official I'd use this as an opportunity to display Europe's sovereignty and make an example out of Musk, publicize the hell out of this and make Musks face some real painful accountability. But I know they won't do that, and it's precisely because of stuff like this that Europeans like me will remain full of contempt for our feckless officials and why US billionaires like Musk will continue to think they can treat us like shit.

To be honest, I really wanted to respond with this Tropic Thunder meme, but I would NEVER do something so rude & irresponsible!

@levelsio I understand where you’re coming from but I feel that the EU startup ecosystem is improving. With the US and China overinvesting EU came up with NextGenEU recovery plan which is like from 2021-2027 the GDP of Canada/Russia in investment. It in part goes to startup and innovation

Just tried it, GPT-4o is live on the API. Model name is pretty straightforward: gpt-4o. Surprisingly it seems to output markdown by default.

Here's my conversation with Yann LeCun (@ylecun) about AI, importance of open source, limits of LLMs, why AI doomers are wrong, and the path to AGI. This was a fun and fascinating technical conversation! It's here on X in full, and is up on YouTube, Spotify, and everywhere else. Links in comment. Crazy to think that Microsoft had a great working Spatial Computing platform for years and yet they decided to scrap it completely and discontinue it the same year Vision Pro launches and everyone finally wants it. I'm just getting Windows Phone vibes all over again.

@AzianMike I process the stream (out of the api answer)in the backend but have to send it and show it chunk by chunk to the user with js/react And for some reason, every method I’ve tried and adapted (since it changed with the 1.0) just outputs the text all at once, it never streams it.

@pad_jules why not do it on the backend? aren't you exposing your api key on the front end?

Been trying to stream openai api’s output on front end for 5 hours. Went from react to 3 plain js integrations. Can’t find any good resources Basically looked for it everywhere and the only examples I found were depreciated (before 1.0). Tried openai migrate but failed also…
