@NtDrifter An inch of soil = 100,000 tonnes per acre (that's the very rough rule of thumb the DPI always made me use for calculation on soil loss) Handy to use for shock value in conversations, apart from that I've never got much other use from knowing that formula.

@Antfarm81 @CaseIHAus @Case_IH Similar issue last yr with our macdon on our 7088. Reel wouldn't spin and we manually overrode it to keep moving. Exhausted all options incl replacing the module. Turned out the issue the recognition plug on the front. Header thought it had a corn front on instead of a draper

@BlacketPeter Low test weight because of rain post ripening or are you seeing something else?

A wealth of agronomic knowledge in my twitter circle. Farmers currently cutting barley in SA from 6 plus t/ha to 2.5 but Bar1 to Bar3 in all regions all yields? Fert/fungicides all more than adequate, timely sowing. Why the low test weight in a wet spring?TIA

@GrowthGrain 100%. I can't believe there's still growers out there that 'cash' each load straight from the header. Surely if we all made the buyers actually work for our grain, we'd see a price rise across the board?

just a gentle reminder as harvest slowly starts in SA to think twice before transferring ownership against cash bids. You can almost always achieve a better price on contract in SA. (1/2)

@linden_price Yes the rust susceptibility looks to be an issue. Our timing of the 2nd fungicide was few days late and it has cost us a % of the grean leaf unfortunately 🙈

@paddywack6 Sorry mate just found your Rockstar question. It did slow right down and seems to be a little behind the Scepter now. Certainly noticed extra s rust infection but think it would be loving this long soft finish though. Header will be the decider.

Hello Rockstar. Guess it’s made the call on our dry winter. 150mm ytd, crop is very good considering over 2months since a rain event over 10mm. Deeper soil compared to shallow is massively better.

wheat up $37.50 in AUD terms on the chicago futures last night. Wonder how much the trade will pass on to the growers today? $15-$20 maybe? Will find out this afternoon!
