THREAD.Great to see @tombennett71 back in a central role in the government's pursuit of improved behaviour in schools. As a Principal of 15 years who has led schools in non-selective and selective sectors, this is what I have learned about effective behaviour in schools. 1/10

Friday’s Brakenhale Easter egg hunt was a shell-ebration! 🎉 Our pupils had fun with speedy scavenging and clever clue-cracking across the school. Thank you to everyone who made it egg-cellent. We're already excited for next year! 🐰 💐

@RogersHistory Of course the key is HOW it is done. Supportive and warm as opposed to critical and judgmental.
If staff perceive the support as judging and criticism, that itself is a problem SLT need to sort.
English

@RogersHistory Respectfully disagree with your take here. It’s the responsibility of SLT to ensure that teachers can teach, free of disruption. If SLT aren’t present in lessons, how can they do this?
New teachers in particular need lots of feedback. Regular feedback is what needs to be normal.
English

ECT was saying their school has a learning walk rota, meaning there is a member of SLT going round lessons every single day. Said SLT had been in their lessons twice in a day and that they weren’t liking it at all. They were asking is this normal or excessive?
My thinking - if it’s ‘normal’, normal needs to change! (And it prob is)
