@parmita Well, intelligence is obviously biological, cause the only place where it is operative is you. And you don't quite know what it is, how it emerges, how it operates, what are its mechanisms, are they even accessible. And to say that box over there has it, is stupid.

I am a biologist. You are conflating two things. The only reason you have life itself is your genes. That does not make intelligence genetic. It’s epigenetic. IQ and intelligence are also not the same thing.

The Fish. Lucy is about 12. Lived on our street in Goa. One day she walked into our house, and when we didn’t ask her to leave, she slept for four days continuously. Like she knew she was safe. Now she’s a Mumbaikar. Really a very well mannered dog. You can tell she was previously owned, and abandoned. Last night, my diet has begun for the next movie role. I’m eating steamed fish. This dog who never begs, loses her mind. Will not stop staring at the fish. The smell drives her insane. Then I realise. This is a Goan dog. She probably had fish every week. I give her a piece. It’s a moment where I think “I know you had a life without me, I sometimes wish you didn’t and we had your whole time together”. I hope she’s thinking the same thing. We both eat the fish.

Todays AI is not conscious but to believe "humans are special" Is the largest waste to science. He is exactly what's wrong with science today
