I don't get what's so hard to understand. The general cultural climate determines how far groups and individuals will push a specific culture, and the USA presidency is one of the most important cultural factors for the whole west. I think Trump is an embarrassing sack of trash, but a woke presidency would have definitely led to a different cultural course.
