⚠️ Travel Advisory ⚠️ As a self-sustaining, non-federal agency, a federal funding lapse does not directly impact the Port Authority’s ability to operate our airport terminals. What it does impact is the federal workforce our airports rely on every day (including TSA and CBP), and over the last several days we’ve begun to see that translate into long wait times at security checkpoints during certain periods depending on passenger volumes, TSA shift changes and staff breaks, and the number of TSA staff who come to work for each shift. We’ve deployed additional customer care staff into terminals to help manage queues, assist passengers, and keep people moving as efficiently as possible. And we’re in constant coordination with TSA, CBP, airlines, and terminal operators to help manage conditions as they evolve. Travelers should plan ahead and check our airport websites and their airline apps for the latest, real-time wait times and flight information before heading to the airport. For passengers looking to save time, tools like TSA PreCheck and TSA’s touchless ID -- now available at select checkpoints -- can help speed the screening process. We are grateful to our federal employees who continue working during this challenging time. We thank those who work each day without a paycheck, helping to keep our airports running.
