@MarshaBlackburn The only thing the verdict confirms is the fact that there is a ton of irresponsible and/or lazy parents out there....

A Neuralink patient named Jon Noble can now play World of Warcraft using only his mind. He is a British Army veteran who cannot move his arms or legs. After getting the brain implant, he controls the game on his MacBook just by thinking. No mouse, no keyboard.

Farmers don't have enough diesel. Transport also. This is bad, very bad. One of two things needs to happen (assuming supply doesn't magically go back to normal) 1) Prices of consumer diesel in the cities needs to rise, massively, to deter consumers from using it. About 12% of diesel is city based based consumers. This is pretty much the only elastic demand available to cut. 2) The government invokes the 1984 Liquid Fuel Emergency (LFE) Act and forcibly redirect the elastic diesel to the farmers and transport. (The act does not allow the government to set prices) If neither of these things happen then the shelves go bare and farmers are rooted. Your EV isn't going to help you when the shelves are empty. Again, there is only about 12%, maybe 15%, city based consumer diesel consumption that is an elastic (non-essential) demand that can be played with here. Sticking your fingers in your ears and hoping the problem goes away isn't a solution.

@eevblog Too bad modern diesel engines are very sensitive to the fuel. The old system before common rail was better, it could even run on a mixture of used cooking oil and diesel.....

Micron's decision to shutter its 30-year-old Crucial consumer brand allowed redirection of resources to AI data centers, fueling a 176% year-over-year revenue jump to $23.86 billion in fiscal Q2. "In the AI era, memory has become a strategic asset for our customers"

Microsoft has changed the old registry hack for the native NVMe driver on Windows 11. It significantly improved performance by approximately 10% to 15% with lower latency and higher transfer speeds. A ViVeTool workaround with feature IDs 60786016 and 48433719 still works for now but carries risks, including BitLocker issues and conflicts with third-party SSD tools.

The Arch Linux Core Dev Team is asking r/ArchLinux sub-reddit mods to censor people unhappy with Age Verification in Arch. It appears that Arch Linux considers criticism of Age Verification to be a "Code of Conduct" violation. From an r/ArchLinux moderator responding to a censored user: "I got a DM from much higher up the chain asking me to remove it. Whilst I technically don't answer to them, I do respect their wishes. They don't like someone they consider as part of the core dev teams being called out like that. What you did broke the Arch Linux CoC."

@4ld0r1thms @GrapheneOS @black_arok Sure, but the usual mantra for rust rewrite is "safety". Which has no real substance as numerous examples show, not to mention the rewrites usually lack sometimes a sizeable chunk of the original projects functionality.

I dont think so, I think its more about pragmatism that Torvalds has chosen for monolithic rather than theoritical microkernel design. the messaging between services also introduce new vulnerabilites which are ofc apple been doing great to mitigate them but, each has it flaws
GrapheneOS@GrapheneOS

@sahajsarup The Linux kernel is a fundamentally anti-security project. It started as a rejection of a more robust and secure OS design. It continues being nearly entirely written in a memory unsafe language where tiny mistakes lead to endless severe vulnerabilities. lore.kernel.org/linux-cve-anno…
