Don't attribute to malice that you can attribute to just kids having fun. @threepointone only wanted to try out a few things in just-bash, he didn't mean to start another open-source competitor. Both cloudflare/vinext and cloudflare/shell were experiments in taking popular open-source projects and seeing what can be done if they are made Cloudflare-native. There is no malice here. But @vercel_dev is very angry with @CloudflareDev. I hope these companies realise that when it comes to open-source working together is winning for both of them. There is no game theory at play here.
