I mean I've heard people say we should give them money, but I kind of doubt it's the best way because we live in a low trust society now where people fake homelessness pretty frequently or use the money for drugs. I'd say just be nice, but it's not necessarily the way that everyone needs to approach charity, and I think denying this is piety signalling.
