as ppl think more & more about ai memory systems, one of the best places to learn from about memory is music. songs are basically compressed memory files (what claude just launched) in some sense (although one to many). a unique thing about music is that it seems to bypass a lot of the higher order filtering that other media goes through & hits limbic, autonomic, & motor systems at the same time. rhythm entrains the body, melody tags emotion, & repetition reinforces encoding. so the memory trace gets stored unusually thick with not just semantic recall, but state recall. place, smell, weather, heartbreak, & the exact texture of a year of your life. all bundled together. that’s why a song from 2014 can teleport you harder than seeing 500 old photos. photos are observational. music is pure reembodiment. & cuz songs are time based, they literally unfold at the same cadence as lived experience. your brain replays the nervous system state attached to it.

ANTHROPIC 🔥: Claude will soon receive a new file-based memory upgrade, offering users the option to choose between Memory Files and Classic memory. > Organized notes Claude writes as you chat and reads when they're relevant. Browse and edit them anytime. This feature appears to be a new iteration of the previously discovered "Knowledge Bases" and more closely resembles what memory works in always-on agents like OpenClaw and Hermes. Considering a potential future debut of Claude Conway, Memory Files feature is likely an important preparation step.

Demis Hassabis says our brains are likely to be approximate Turing machines. AlphaFold showed why that matters: protein folding looked like a quantum problem, but a classical neural network could model it well enough to solve it. The world may be quantum, but understanding it may only need the right approximation.

rationality is impossible. Even if you have a rational thought process, you have so many biases and in your puny human day your sample size is so hyperminiscule that to believe your opinion on anything is remotely representative of reality itself is laughable. Therefore, it's impossible to "objectively observe reality and opinions based on objective reality". Thus, you are basically a retard hallucinating regardless of what you believe. You are effectively no better than some like retarded African bushman who believes that some dance makes rain. Given this, there is no reason to artifically limit your beliefs or action to try and "Be rational". There is no trophy for being the most rational because everyone is a hallucinating retarded bushmen. All that matter is that you WIN. You can and should be as irrational, superstitious, whatever, as you want, as long as you WIN. If you "look smart and rational" but you only lose, you're poor, you're weak, then you're just a hallucinating retarded bushman in a forest and ALSO a loser. Given that you cannot escape being a hallucinating retarded bushman You might as well believe whatever is going to make you rich and strong and well liked because it's not any less delusional or retarded. Does that make more sense?

Consider a 5D observer; looking at you, a 4D being It would see the shape of your lifetime, all at once Everywhere in space you were, are and will be In one grand arc They could mold this shape Like you, a 4D being, could reshape a stick figure on paper (2D+T=3D)

people love to believe everything is deliberate, planned, or orchestrated cuz that feels good for the human mind. like there’s some grand invisible hand moving pieces around. that’s just often not true. most outcomes are just messy iterations of luck, timing, & half baked decisions colliding. things feel intentional only after the fact. hindsight is a narrative engine. it takes randomness & retrofits meaning onto it until it looks inevitable. but it wasn’t. & it almost never is.

When your working life rewards you, it’s easy to ratchet up the complexity: homes, cars, travel, possessions etc. I have found that all that complexity comes at the sake of your most fleeting asset: your time. Instead of building things, all of a sudden you’re dealing with minutiae and logistics. Instead of talking mostly to engineers, you’re talking mostly to non-engineers. The building stops…the business of managing self inflicted complexity begins. It’s worth noting that the best players in the game (Buffett, Elon) have kept their life extremely basic, almost monastic/nomadic, as success ratcheted them ever higher. I think it’s the biggest secret hiding in plain sight: When the world upgrades your status, downgrade your complexity.

The more you study people, the more you notice that their strongest opinions often grow out of their deepest wounds. A man who was ignored becomes obsessed with recognition, a man who was humiliated becomes obsessed with control, and a man who was betrayed becomes obsessed with suspicion.

You don't have ideas. Ideas have you. You are more "possessed" by ideas than ideas are possessed by you. When you access an idea, it is not "you" having the idea; rather, it is your brain receiving a potentiality of expression from the collective field that we comprehend as language, pictures, and symbols. So why would "you" be the one to pull the idea into reality — when theoretically anyone could access it? - Are you the most clear? - The most coherent? - The most obsessed? - The most surrendered? - The most well-networked? - The highest energy? - The most connected to God? If you are all of these, you maximize the likelihood that the idea (aka the potentiality) will choose you. If you are only some of these, the idea will choose someone else who is more spiritually, physically, and mentally equipped. You don't have to worry about ideas. They will find you if your vessel is at the frequency that matches the idea. Then, it is up to you to stay coherent to the frequency of the idea for a long stretch of time to bring the idea into manifest.
