Folks rightfully point out the contrast between how we are responding to refugees from Ukraine versus those from Haiti. But rather than suggesting less compassion for Ukraine, let’s use this moment to say we need MORE compassion for all refugees — no matter where they come from.

How to be funny: When I was in college, I did stand up comedy for 4 years. In the process I learned a bunch of patterns and techniques to increase the likelihood I got a laugh. And I learned a lot about creativity and making things people care about. Some things I learned:
