@SpectatorUSA @DouglasKMurray Unfortunately less so over here with our minor elements of the political parties. Some of the statements coming union leaders and local left politicians are truly disrespectful and opportunistic.

@NAChristakis Agree with your death rate. Based on yesterdays statement that evidence suggests single digit exposure means current UK death rate of between 0.8% (1%) down to 0.16% (9%). However we must understand that this is not consistent across social, economic and gender groups.

Probably as many as 40% of humans will be exposed to COVID19 over the next 2-3 years, judging from past pandemics. Not everyone will actually get it. Only some (probably <1.0%) of those who get it will die. The rest will recover. And, almost all of them will be immune. 2/

Let’s talk about what happens if you get COVID19 and recover. Are you immune to the disease? How long does the immunity last? And what does that mean for your life and for the public health and economy of our society? 1/

So this is something I never thought I’d be doing-shopping in Morrison’s at 7AM wearing a mask, helping the fantastic @BramleyElderly get food for older people who are self isolating. Thanks to my co-shoppers @I_M_Shaw , Rebecca Durrant and Phil Mcconnell for making it fun!!!

@Welshracer @WelshGasDoc You can't the NHS is nearly entirely funded by Tax, money given to the gov to spend on our behalf for the benefit of the nation. Would you give tax money to the airlines, as their main source of income then have no oversight? Agree that it's management should be cross party.

@WelshGasDoc I would like to find a way of making the NHS truly independent from #Parliament and its funding also independently assessed too - bit like what IPSA does with MPs pay and expenses. Take the politics out of health.

@WayneMarlow7 @afneil The standard of reporting has been abysmal. I think the problem is it's an epicily big, slow moving story run by proper scientists. There's no scoop, there can't argue with the science so they are relegated to trying to out fame each other

@JCheepnis @BBCPolitics @BBCNews @NicolaSturgeon According to a no. of nat' commentators neither can the SNP. There have (small no.) been SNP supporters suggesting she should be capitalising on the present situation to call for inde'. If only they had been independent and in the EU (oxymoron) how much better it would all be

@JamieKB4 @marbridmacc @IsabelOakeshott Your allowed to buy what you want. But for those who find rational thought Protein, carbs, vegetables, sanitary (such as toothpaste soap etc). Cleaning products for health, hygiene and safety. Equipment (tools) to enable homosapiens to utalise the above. Simple really.

@ChrisMasonBBC So up to about 5.6 million (9%) which would mean across all social, gender and age demographics a death rate of between 0.8 (1m) and 0.15% (5.6%). Although the less affluent, men and elder populations have a much higher representation within the mortality rate.

Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance suspects the number of people who may get it asymptomatically could be around 30%. He suspects we are in "single digit numbers" for the percentage of the country that has already had it.

@JamesDart No, democracy relies on those who loose the argument accepting the result. Then building a consensus to chalange the original argument. It does not involve screaming & shouting 1/2 truths, wishing people dead & the denigration of individuals with a different view point.

If you’re being accused of over-negativity and/or point scoring, remember: 1. Democracies rely on dissenting voices holding government to account. 2. The ERG (now in Gov) are extremists. Don’t normalise them. 3. Their errors are costing lives. Speak up. Save lives.

@_Awake_Soul_ @exposed_drama @Redutd99Rhys @choiyagal @RailDeliveryGrp Euro research suggests 4-6% of REPORTED aliagation are false, UK MoJ estimates 4%. So if estimated 850k incidents against women, reporting rate of 15%=125k which means using MoJ estimate 5k per year or 100 a week. Only took me 10mins to find UK Gov and charity figures. Simple
