@adamdenverco @janaagaard @TheJackForge This sums it up quite nicely. People can have their issues with Tailwind, but for me It remedies most of things I don’t like about writing CSS, and as a result makes me enjoy writing CSS so much more.

@AdamRackis Weird to see people questioning the React’s monopoly. Yes, other frameworks do exist and some people are being paid to work with them. However, seems pointlessly contrarian to dispute the fact React’s market share is orders of magnitude higher than the rest.

Between SvelteKit coming soon, and Solid's version coming behind it I'm really excited for the future of web development. I love seeing at least a path for React's monopoly on web dev to be broken. (monopoly on web dev you get paid for, not your fucking side projects, Chad)

@AdamRackis I’m really hyped by the current state of front-end frameworks. @astrodotbuild has really changed my view as to what it means to build modern websites. I’m really enjoying working with it. That coupled with the SvelteKit 1.0 which I guess will be coming very soon, has me pumped.

@chrismardell @FaangStaffEng @kentcdodds Agree with this. Good tech should never have to cover for bad code. My opinion on this is ship as little JavaScript as possible and hydrate only what you need to. I’m a big fan of how @astrodotbuild leverages its islands architecture to keep things fast.

@KevinNaughtonJr I find myself becoming passionate about tools when I’m taken aback by how well they solve a particular problem, but the problem should come first, then the tool. The issue with some devs is they’ve already chosen their tool before they’ve seen the problem it needs to solve.

am I the only software engineer who doesn't feel passionate about any particular technologies? All I care about is solving the problem at hand and I almost never have strong opinions on what we use to do so

@EthanGardner @astrodotbuild I think DX is a huge part of it, different frameworks are often different solutions to the same problem, that appeal to varying groups of developers. If you know how to solve a problem in one way, that will become your default, because learning new things is often hard.

@pauldolden @astrodotbuild I don't understand people being so dogmatic about frameworks. I get wanting to be productive and not reinventing the wheel, but frameworks are tools to solve problems.

Ah man, I’m sold on @astrodotbuild. In an industry that is flooded with developers who are so adversarial and partisan about their tools and will advocate for their use universally, it’s awesome to find something that aims itself at solving a particular problem extremely well 1/2

Content driven sites are the bread and butter of the web and I, any many others, reach for tools that over-engineer and ship way too much JS as a side-effect of our own comfort. I really think @astrodotbuild is a tool that should be rallied around as a ✅ Problem solved. 2/2
