He did it politely and diplomatically but King Charles just reminded Congress: • NATO was there for USA after 9/11 • British Troops did fight in Afghanistan • Ukraine needs our help now • executive power must be subject to checks & balances • ice-caps are melting • America’s natural wonders need protecting

If you had a bad day at work, at least you didn´t f*** up like this past Thursday. During an exercise, a Spanish Air Force A400 Atlas airdropped an armored vehicle. However, the parachute didn´t deploy, and this happened... More info below On April 23, 2026, a Spanish Army URO VAMTAC armored vehicle was completely destroyed during a failed airdrop in a military exercise near Uceda, in the province of Guadalajara, Spain. The vehicle was released from an Airbus A400M Atlas transport aircraft as part of a BRIPAC (Paratrooper Brigade) training exercise. Moments after extraction, the parachutes failed to deploy, causing the unmanned vehicle to fall from approximately 300 meters and be destroyed on impact. Early reports indicate the cause was a rigging failure in the securing straps or parachute system, resulting in uncontrolled detachment. The VAMTAC—an off-road, high-mobility tactical vehicle used by the Spanish Army—was deemed beyond repair, with damage estimated at roughly €600,000. No injuries were reported. Authorities have launched a technical investigation to determine the exact cause of the parachute malfunction.

Today, we said goodbye to one of the most important people in our family’s lives. Vern. I won the lottery when Vern became my mother-in-law. She was the most loving, caring and passionate person I knew. And she instilled all of those qualities in the love of my life. She raised an incredible human in Carol, who shared a special bond with her Mom and her absence will leave a hole that can never be filled. She was a proud grandmother, who loved Paget and Zachary more than anything. They are so fortunate to have had a grandmother who was so engaged in their daily lives, cheering them on every step of the way. I will miss Vern every day. I will miss her smiling face. Her sharp tongue. Her massive hugs. And her chocolate cake. You can rest easy now, Vern. Our family has a very special angel keeping an eye on us now.

Even as a close and trusted ally, Canada would never speak about the United States in the crude, dismissive way Howard Lutnick spoke about us. Calling Canada’s trade approach “the worst strategy I’ve ever heard” and bluntly declaring “they suck” shows a surprising lack of maturity and diplomacy from a senior U.S. official. In contrast, Canada responded with calm restraint— Tom Mulcair’s cool “Lighten up, buddy” captured the mature Canadian tone perfectly. While tensions rise ahead of CUSMA talks, Canada continues to act like a responsible partner, even as it has begun to rapidly pivot away from the US: defending its interests firmly but respectfully, protecting farmers and workers, and keeping doors open for fair negotiation if this administration actually wants it. That composure and professionalism remain obvious, even when provoked. Canada is the adult in the room. 🇨🇦 #canpoli #CUSMA

Just found out that on 9/11, when the United States shut its airspace, 38 planes got diverted to a tiny town in Atlantic Canada called Gander, Newfoundland. The town’s population at the time was around 10,000 people. Overnight, 6,700 strangers arrived. The population nearly doubled in a few hours. Apparently the town just opened up. Schools, churches, and community halls were turned into sleeping areas. Bus drivers who had been on strike came off the picket lines to shuttle passengers. Pharmacies filled prescriptions for free. The ice rink at the community centre became a giant fridge because there was so much donated food. People invited strangers into their homes for showers, meals, and a bed. The passengers were only there for four days. Twenty-five years later, many of them are still in touch with their Newfoundland hosts. One flight raised money for a scholarship fund for kids in Gander. It started at 15,000 US dollars and has since paid out over a million dollars to local students. A musical was made about it called Come From Away. It ran on Broadway for five years. When a reporter asked one of the Newfoundland women why they did it, she said, “You don’t turn your back on people in need.”

PM Carney on the Americans calling the alcohol ban an irritant: "You know what's an irritant? 50% tariffs on steel. 50% tariffs on aluminum. 25% tariffs on automobiles. All the tariffs on forest products. Those are more than irritants, those are violations of our trade deal."

Shaheen: How does insulting our closest ally and neighbor help the businesses in my state and states all across this country who are hurting because of the loss of Canadian business and tourism? Lutnick: Canada's economy leans on the incredible $30 trillion economy of America. Shaheen: We have all those Canadian visitors who are not coming because of your comments and comments by the administration. How does that help our economy? Lutnick: It is outrageous that Canada will not put U.S. Spirits on the shelf. Shaheen: And they won't do it because of the insults from this president and comments like yours.

A telling sign on MS Now. Former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland completely dismantles the Trump administration. She exposes how Washington humiliates its closest allies and drags them into reckless wars without consultation. The empire is fracturing.
