The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians. These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls. As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.

@GovernorVA After lying about opposing the redistricting vote, you're the last person who should be claiming the moral high ground. If you don't respect and follow your state's constitution, you will rightfully lose in your state's Supreme Court and SCOTUS. They rightfully did their jobs.

@CollinRugg The district was drawn to elect a black congressman, but it failed when a white guy (you) won. That's one reason race shouldn't be considered when creating congressional districts. An even better reason is that SCOTUS ruled that representation must be race neutral per the VRA.

@GavinNewsom It did not gut the VRA, it strengthened it. It ended the race based districts that had been trampling the rights of the majority. No more "tyranny of the minority." Now redistricting has to be color-blind, which was the original goal of MLK and the civil rights movement.
