Ngl the most disabling symptom of ADHD is the paralysis. It's the deep, internal shame of knowing exactly what to do... and just sitting there, watching yourself not do it.

Compared to the distress I suffered from age 7 when BBC continuity announcers daily persisted in calling a cartoon "Boss Cat" when it was patently called "Top Cat", this is manageable. The reason, as I only discovered after decades of trauma, was that there was (briefly) a brand of catfood called Top Cat, and the BBC thought that merely uttering these words would constitute advertising.

There comes a time in every young movie lovers life when they realize there are, in fact, no pink panthers in the pink panther movies. My 5 year old is learning this harsh truth as we speak.

Ardent believer that we should invest a significant sum of money in doing this across the country. Not just stations - public buildings, parks, public toilets, fountains. Pretty, traditional, useful. Stuff that communities love, get volunteers involved.
Calgie@christiancalgie

Every single thing in this photo has been painstakingly rebuilt by community volunteers since 2011, after our idiotic countrymen tore it all down in the 60s (Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do)

@ChimeWhistle @christiancalgie Fingers crossed for that line to reopen someday, as it would ease travel congestion across the south midlands, increase tourism, and open up many new travel opportunities further afield.

@christiancalgie Closed as a through route between Stratford and Cheltenham in 1976, after a freight derailed and BR didn't want to pay the repair costs. Some of the route has been redeveloped at the Stratford end, making it very difficult and expensive to reinstate.

@createstreets 100%, but to do so we need leaders who get long-term thinking. Roads are cheaper and easier to build and the consequences (environmental, social etc) are often for subsequent leaders and generations to deal with. That needs to change but it takes guts to do it.

After the calamitous approach to public transport and civic architecture over the last 60 years, the next century should again be the age of the train (and the tram). Function, comfort and civic pride need to entwine to that end.

We’ve all seen the beautiful CGI renders in planning applications. Leafy, walkable neighborhoods where children play and cars take a back seat. But then, we see what actually gets adopted: a desert of black asphalt, no trees, disjointed pavements, wide curves & large visibility splays all a world away from the original vision. Want to solve it ? Here’s how: our latest blog by @djjmilner ….

@IainDale I honestly think that there’s an editorial view of “we need to tell people about this BBC event because, as a public service, it’s our duty to do so” which seems right in principle, but creates the unfortunate effect of looking like self-obsession

How on earth does the sacking of Scott Mills become the lead item on the BBC One O'Clock news. I know the BBC loves nothing more than to obsess about itself, but is this really a bigger news story than what is going on in Iran or energy prices?
