@SmallerFishGAA The Galavanting GK is in, let forward track GGK. Leaving 3v2 at back. One back will obviously play fly GK leaving 2v2. More turnovers, more goals scored !

@paulwilde33 how did the goalkeeping position survive for 130 years before the galavanting goalie became a thing. How do soccer and hurling keep goalkeepers 🤔

Do you like the goalkeeper entering the opposition half creating a 12v11 scenario?

@TonyStack1 @iGaelicCoach @Richard_Commins Time will tell, but I reckon teams having 12v11 will also run down clock with possession back and forth while say 5pts up with 5mins left. Back to what we were trying to get away from !

@iGaelicCoach @paulwilde33 @Richard_Commins Football is like handball these days , passing left and right outside the arc. But in handball the ref can call passive play and award a turnover.

12v11 In Possession 🐌Is there not slow phases of play in all invasion games where a team controls the game in possession ? 🏎️Are we looking for just a game of constant transition’s up and down the pitch with no control. ⏳How long are the phases compared to old game ?

@iGaelicCoach @Richard_Commins Yeah and 99% of matches are shocking to watch. Let the GK go up but he can be tracked by one of the 3 forwards. More jeopardy, more turnovers, more excitement.

@Richard_Commins Why are soccer teams all looking for GK’s now who can join in build up phases? As it creates an 11v10 so they can dominate the phases of play.

@SmallerFishGAA Agree, was at Dublin/Mayo and at times it was like deja vu with goalie up and controlled possession going from side to side. Think we need to give the goalie some freedom but let a forward track his run (leaving 3 backs two forwards up) this will lead to more turnovers/excitement

@RebelDevil71 Let them press then. Why not let a forward go with him? Both teams are using it as a means to control possession. It's too easy to control the ball in Gaelic football

Heard all kinds of complaints after the All-Ireland final but don't think I heard one person say they wanted the goalkeepers to be more involved.
