I request @PMOIndia to look into the Rock Garden matter. Sir it is of grave concern that orders were given out to demolish a wall that had artwork of Nek Chand ji. How did we become fans of Talibans ? They destroyed beautiful monuments of historical importance , the Bambiyan statutes . Demolition of this part of Rock Garden shows the insensitivity of those who gave these order .

I am Nek Chand’s granddaughter, & my family has spent decades shaping Chandigarh’s ecosystem, planting 100s of trees and fostering sustainability. We are deeply disheartened by this demolition. Govt officials aren’t the only rightful guardians—the people & family must have a say!

@MCChandigarh I did not click pictures, but the rock Garden is a mess . there is litter everywhere. I really don’t understand why cannot the sanitary inspector in charge of that area keep it clean. Why are the vendors back in the heritage sectors of Chandigarh

Development at the cost it destroying existing infrastructure is what Chandigarh is leading the way in ( the 800 trees that they want to cut to make a flyover is the existing infrastructure, that have been working for last 100 years already !
