@davidfowl Haha, today I bought a license for Rider, I like it better. Even though I use Visual Studio daily as well.

Cold starts are bad for business 🥶📉 Waiting seconds for the database to wake up means failed web requests, and much lower conversions. 🛌😪 If a web crawler hits your site while your database is asleep then you will be marked as slow 🐌 PlanetScale has no cold starts. 🚀

YouTubers keep making the same mistakes and it breaks my heart to see. I made most of them myself. Here's a thread of the most common ones I see

i find it really lame when engineers complain about PMs they only exist because of your own reluctance to do anything but write code or as liz puts it “cannot imagine 90% of engineers doing anything but being told exactly what to build”

@wes_walke A bit off topic I’m a .NET dev as well, but I use Vercel with Next.JS for my projects. With NextJs you can write server code as well. Vercel has aswesome DX for hosting Doesn’t cost me a penny If my projects grow in complexity and load I can just use Azure Serverless

.NET devs, where are you hosting your ASP.NET or Blazor projects and what is it costing you a month? I'm especially curious about pricing for full stack web apps (app + database).

@ayuninotayutu Building a blog is great exercise! Are you going to use any front-end frameworks? I recently open-sourced my own blog made with React and NextJS. In case you want to get any ideas or inspiration, I can share the link to GitHub
