@kyleblasdel Are we banning club sports on Sundays too? Because I've coached a lot more athletes who spend their Sundays playing club volleyball & AAU than they do at school related activities. 🤔

I support this and I think some coaches need to hear it plainly:
Things have gotten out of control.
When you’re expecting kids to train, lift, and practice year-round with no real break, that’s not development that’s pressure.
And let’s stop pretending this is about college opportunities. Only a small percentage of kids will ever play at the next level. For most, this is the experience.
So why are we turning it into something that crowds out family time, faith, and any life outside of sports?
We’re burning kids and families out.
A couple protected time windows isn’t harmful it’s necessary. If a program can’t succeed without 7-day access to kids, that’s not a scheduling issue, that’s a philosophy problem.

It’s unfortunate that KSHSAA and its member schools didn’t get the opportunity to address this first before it was jumped to the legislature.
They might not have given the answer that someone would have liked or preferred, but they (KSHSAA, AD’s, member schools AKA the experts in this subject matter) could have figured out a solution that works for everyone
not the bureaucrats who should be focusing on LOTS more important stuff (I don’t fully know what issues are most important to KS since I moved but this seems near like a near bottom of the totem pole problem)

@alexhammeke @vikesroyal @bhallier @joannachadwick I know of a few parent complaints but other than that I do not know. Post season scheduling is solely on KSHSAA and that is who it should have been addressed to. But I'm unaware if it was.

@vikesroyal @bhallier @joannachadwick @alexhammeke I guess my question is are they going after club sports on Sundays & Wednesdays next? Because those are far more pushed on Sunday and Wednesday nights than school activities are.

@vikesroyal @bhallier @joannachadwick @alexhammeke St. Rose, Mt.Vernon. Cheney 🏀 has had a Wednesday substate game the last two years, causing frustration to Father Duling and people who attend Wednesday night religion/mass. Not all but a good amount.

@GrahamCoffeyDC Maybe he's a "good coach" but his actions don't make him a good leader or role model for the men he's coaching and to me that doesn't make you a good coach. Maybe good at data and analytics but there's much more to being a coach. He's an arrogant idiot.

Todd Golden is one of the best coaches in the sport and is exceptional at using analytics data tangibly
But you can’t chirp game after game then lose as a #1 seed two hours from home because you pressed a team with no iso threat and couldn’t get a last shot up 8.9 seconds apart
