what happened to github copilot is just the start if you can’t afford paying API costs for your workflow, you probably need to start planning a contingency how can you make your workflow sustainable when subsidies end?

@tsmtwothousand @noinconsistency ragebait at this point, people already consume actual AI content right now, not funny AI shitty videos, and if you want to ignore it that's fine doesn't mean human content will end, it just means AI content exists and people do watch it and will watch even more

ah yes the really good point that "no one will want to watch the soulless things made by AI no matter how good it is" tell that to the people that already do, i literally agree that AI content is slop but it doesn't change the fact that this is happening and if you can't accept then so be it your internet bubble is not the majority of people

the companies are selling compute for inference not "AI streamers" or "AI games" it's people paying for the compute that will do those things and when the models are good enough (already are) that you have no idea if it's generated or real then can you truly say that people won't be entertained? AI influencers exist, there's already people making money from that

it sure is good to make fun and laugh at "bad" AI videos when you are able to notice it's AI but it's getting too good to the point you will have no idea they are AI anymore, so what happens then? you can even try to argument this doesn't happen now, but you can't say this will be the case forever, technology won't stop progressing just because you don't like it and like i've said on other replies here, i'm not advocating for this and am not even a fan of this but it's literally happening right now, coping about it won't help it's the same thing as "AI can't draw hands" and then 1 year later it does perfect hands fine

@pborges_x @noinconsistency The only Ai content that is huge is either 1) Not labelled as ai thus deceives people, especially older individuals Or 2) Watched with the idea of laughing at it for how ridiculous and bad it is Nobody is going to watch a fake streamer

@tsmtwothousand @noinconsistency not what i meant at all but it's funny that you said this thinking it's bad when those mobile games make hundreds of millions per MONTH so yes it's an amazing business model

@DukesDukeDukes @noinconsistency your opinion is valid but i think it'll happen nonetheless the tools to make this kind of stuff will get cheaper with time and someone will make a lot of money with AI streamers majority of people will watch anything, we already have big streamers that make slop content

@pborges_x @noinconsistency i know, i just think you're wrong about why people watch streamers and let's play content. not every use case of a powerful new technology is necessarily inevitable

@siteunderconst1 @noinconsistency no idea, doesn't change the fact that it's being researched and compute is being directed to it the sora team itself is being redirected to world simulation research which is basically "fake games" while other companies continue to research video generation

@pborges_x @noinconsistency Why on earth would someone spend the money to process something like this for hours on end every single day, when things line vtubing already exist? Why generate a game no one cares about, without its own independent internal logic?

@Trikoviboi when you give video generation for free of course it's not gonna be profitable bytedance continues to launch new and impressive seedance models while charging money for them and they don't seem to be stopping so sure, keep thinking this will stop because of sore shutdown
