This is dumb, but it's also probably 10x more politically impactful than Chris Van Hollen's dumb tax ideas at a teeny tiny fraction of the cost. If you're gonna propose dumb stuff, make it cheap!

Look, this is ridiculous. As is Trump’s need to plaster his face everywhere else. But if you aren’t laughing at the anguish of Blue Anon’ers having to choose between renewing their passports and abandoning their plans to travel to Europe, you simply lack a sense of humor.

But the fights often obscured the degree to which individuals could hold both populist and abundance principles. And I've come to think of this somewhat cheesily as the 'abundance mullet.' Economic populism in the front and abundance in the back. Zohran Mamdani ran on freezing the rent — but here he is talking about making it easier and faster for developers to build in New York City. Mikie Sherrill ran on freezing utility increases — but her second executive order was all about supply-side renovations to encourage the construction of solar and storage by making it easier to build energy in New Jersey.
I feel like the Americans would benefit greatly from local pub culture. In the U.S., socializing often means making plans and driving - and we treat dancing like it’s only for young people clubbing. What if you could just…walk down the street and hang with neighbors?
