I will say this: I have seen the Knicks lose at least one of their first two home playoff games in four straight series, and I have seen Maxey go nuclear at MSG three times in one six-game series. Knicks need to take care of business here.

No Embiid, obviously, should impact how the Knicks might look to attack Philly. Drummond's a liability in drop, too; Bona's more mobile and can play at the level of the screen, switch/blitz/etc., but also had like a million fouls and turnovers in his brief Game 1 cameo.

For Knicks fans desperately searching for some hope/optimism... the reality is: This series is NOT over. Being down 2-1 is undeniably daunting, but not insurmountable by any means. Five times in the franchise’s history, New York has dug out of a 2-1 hole. The most recent such instance was against Miami in the 2000 EC semifinals. (New York lost Game 3 by one point, before beating the Heat in Game 4 and winning the series in 7). This Hawks team is not invincible. The Knicks have outscored Atlanta in this series by nine points through three games (327-318), despite the fact that they haven't gotten anything from Bridges and very little from Mitch Rob. Josh Hart was 1-of-9 from the floor last night and is 1-of-10 from downtown in this series. New York has outrebounded the Hawks on both the offensive (34-27) and defensive glass (138-121). The Knicks have scored more points in the paint. Losing two games by a total of two points is insane. KAT has been great (feed him more early, often). OG has been a beast. No reason to expect that to stop. Deuce found his rhythm. Will McCollum come back down to earth? Even a little bit? Will Brunson, the NBA’s reigning Clutch Player of the Year, bounce back and make a bunch of big buckets? If the Knicks win Saturday, it’s a three-game series. New York would have momentum heading back to MSG and home-court advantage. Of course, it all starts with the Knicks winning Game 4, a defining game for the group.
