@runarorama @shlevy Actually, you can have discussions and follow anyone and any hashtag, regardless of server. Not like subreddits. More like a simpler federated Twitter.
Only reason I see to care about which server you join is mod policies and the "local feed".

Nate's post... Elon's reply. The fact that Twitter's algorithm showed me this garbage in the first place when I didn't ask for it.
This kind of thing is why people are leaving in droves.

@TheodoreGalanos @ylecun The paper sounds reasonable! It’s the original twitter announcement that caused problems IMO. If it was more reserved and acked limitations, etc, like the paper does, I wonder if it would have blown up.
I’d like research announcements here to be closer to paper abstracts in tone

@pchiusano @ylecun I'm generally the most critical person in the (AI) room, but in this case I don't get it. Especially from people that know what LLMs are, what are their current capabilities and limitations. Reading the paper should have made all that pretty clear I feel.
